https://ecoursereview.com/cloud-computing-pros-and-cons-for-business-it/ 3 Types of Cloud Computing Services: IaaS PaaS SaaS Explained You Might Wonder – What Is Cloud Computer: #Cloudcomputing is a set of forms that contain certain elements that allows for on-demand, network access, scalability, and shared resources. It's a platform for managing, storing, and processing data online through the internet. Some of the cloud computing features include the following: - On-Demand Services – Available when you need it - Network Access – When using the internet as your medium - Shared Resources – All resources are gathered together and used by multiple customers - Scalability - The ability of a computer system to adapt to increasing demands The Three Delivery Models: Cloud computing provides different services based on three delivery configurations. When they are arranged in a pyramid structure, they are in the order of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. The Three Services: #SaaS - Software as a Service This service provides on-demand pay per use of the application software for users and is independent of a platform. You do not have to install software on your computer, unlike a license paid program. Cloud runs a single occurrence of the software, making it available for multiple end-users allowing the service to be cheap. All the computing resources that are responsible for delivering SaaS are totally managed by the vendor. The service is accessible through a web browser or lightweight client applications. End customers use SaaS regularly. The most popular SaaS providers offer the following products and services: Google Ecosystem including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, Microsoft Office 365, and SalesForce. #PaaS - Platform as a Service This service is mostly a development environment that is made up of a programming language execution environment, an operating system, web server, and database. It provides an environment where users can build, compile, and run their program without worrying about an hidden infrastructure. You manage the data and application resources. All the other resources are managed by the vendor. This is the realm for developers. PaaS providers offer the following products and services: Amazon Web services, Elastic Beanstalk, Google App Engine, Windows Azure, Heroku, and Force.com #IaaS - Infrastructure as a Service This service provides the architecture and infrastructure. It provides all computing resources but in a virtual environment so multiple users can have access. The resources include data storage, virtualization, servers, and networking. Most vendors are responsible for managing them. If you use this service, you are responsible for handling other resources including applications, data, runtime, and middleware. This is mostly for SysAdmins. IaaS providers offer the following products and services: Amazon EC2, Go Grid, and Rackspace.com. Here is a short list of some companies that use cloud computing: iCloud – Cloud from Apple is for Apple products. You can backup and store everything from multimedia to documents online. The content is then smoothly integrated onto your devices. Amazon's AWS - When you talk about companies using cloud computing, Amazon Web Services leads the pack. It offers IaaS and PaaS to all their customers. Google Cloud – This cloud platform is universal for Google's enormous ecosystem and for other products such as Microsoft Office. It provides storage of data and collaboration along with other services that are included in their cloud computing suite. Microsoft Azure – Offered by Microsoft, it provides SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS for its software and developer tools. If you have used Office 365, then you have used SaaS. IBM Smart Cloud - This offers private, public, and hybrid distribution platforms providing a full range of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS cloud computing services for businesses. The pay as you go platform generates profits for IBM. New technology is popping up all over the internet and Cloud seems to be on the rise. This is only scratching the surface on what is already available and what will become available throughout 2017. --- 3 Types of Cloud Computing Services - IaaS PaaS SaaS Explained https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36zducUX16w #CloudComputingServices #CloudComputing --- Follow us on https://www.facebook.com/EcourseReviews https://twitter.com/EcourseReviews https://plus.google.com/+Ecoursereview/posts https://ecoursereview.com/

What are the types of Clouds? Cumulus Clouds - Looks like puffy white cotton balls high in the sky. - Usually means the weather is not going to rain. Cirrus Clouds - Wispy clouds way up high in the sky, where the air is very cold. - Made of tiny particles of ice instead of water drops. - Usually means weather is going to be clear and calm. Fog - Usually forms right above the ground in the morning or evening when the air is cold. - It goes away when the sun comes our and warms the tiny water drops back to water vapour. Stratus Clouds - Stratus means "Layer" - Big layers of clouds across the sky blocking out the sun. - Often bringing rain or snow. Cumulonimbus Clouds - Big black clouds with flat bottoms. - Bring thunderstorms, lightnings and even tornado or hail. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build your child’s understanding of important science concepts with these exciting learning animations from the award-winning learning program ABCmouse! The first thing you have to ask yourself. Clouds are made of tiny drops of water or ice crystals that settle on dust particles in the atmosphere. The droplets are so small - a diameter of about a hundredth of a millimeter - that each cubic meter of air will contain 100 million droplets. Clouds will either be composed of ice or water droplets depending on the height of the cloud and the temperature of the atmosphere. Because the droplets are so small, they can remain in liquid form in temperatures as low as -30 °C. Extremely high clouds at temperatures below -30 °C are composed of ice crystals. Clouds form when the invisible water vapor in the air condenses into visible water droplets or ice crystals. There is water around us all the time in the form of tiny gas particles, also known as water vapor. There are also tiny particles floating around in the air - such as salt and dust (we used alcohol instead of aerosols in this experiment) - these are called aerosols. The water vapor and the aerosols (Alcohol in this experiment act as the aerosols) are constantly bumping into each other. When the air is cooled, some of the water vapor sticks to the aerosols when they collide - this is condensation. Eventually, bigger water droplets form around the aerosol particles, and these water droplets start sticking together with other droplets, forming clouds. Clouds form when the air is saturated and cannot hold any more water vapor, this can happen in two ways: The amount of water in the air has increased - for example through evaporation - to the point that the air cannot hold any more water. The air is cooled to its dew point - the point where condensation occurs - and the air is unable to hold any more water. The warmer the air is, the more water vapor it can hold. Clouds are usually produced through condensation - as the air rises, it will cool and reducing the temperature of the air decreases its ability to hold water vapor so that condensation occurs. The height at which dew point is reached and clouds form is called the condensation level. In our experiment when we release the pressure the temperature inside of the bottle decreased so a cloud form inside it and the alcohol act as aerosols Cloud In A Bottle Cloud in a Bottle Science Experiment How to Make a Cloud in a Bottle Cloud in a Bottle | Experiments Cloud in a Bottle Demonstration - Make a Cloud in a Bottle By Benyamin Amiri

10 Unique Animals You Won’t Believe Exist

09:42
10 strange and amazing animals that you have probably never heard of. Nature is truly full of surprises! We live in the twenty-first century, and all continents have already been discovered, all secrets of our planet revealed, all mountain peaks conquered. Just when you think you have seen it all, some new bizarre creature makes an appearance instantly restoring your faith in the impossible! TIMESTAMPS Mangalitsa Pig, a.k.a. “a pig in sheep’s clothing” 0:50 Rhinopithecus or golden snub-nosed monkey 1:33 Emperor tamarin 2:13 Patagonian Mara 3:04 Fluffy cow 3:52 Markhor Goat 4:44 Raccoon dog 5:23 Blue Footed Booby 6:25 Malayan Colugo 7:13 Venezuelan Poodle Moth 8:09 BONUS 8:56 SUMMARY - The birthplace of this curly-haired pig is Hungary where it was discovered in the mid-19th century. Due to the fleece covering this animal, it resembles a sheep, therefore, such a name! - The name of this species is roxellana, and there is a story behind it. It is believed that they were called this way after the supposedly snub-nosed courtesan of Suleiman the Magnificent (a 16th century Sultan of the Ottoman Empire). - They were called like this because of the resemblance of their mustache to that of German Emperor Wilhelm II. - Patagonia Mara is the fourth largest rodent on our planet. There are several interesting facts about them. Females often put offsprings into crèches for safety. - Fluffy cows are looked after by people whose work is to wash, dry and use products to style these animals, so they look as fluffy as they do! It is necessary to maintain them daily, and it will take months of regular grooming until they get this lovely look of kids toys. - If you see a creature which looks as if it’s trying to catch an alien radio signal from space, it’s most likely Markhor Goat. They can grow as long as 6 ft from head to tail! - If you can’t decide if you want to have a dog or a raccoon as a pet, we have just the thing for you - raccoon dog! Despite having raccoon-like markings on their fur, they are not very closely related to the North American raccoon. - Blue Footed Booby are to catch your eye if you ever visit the Galapagos Islands. They can look a bit clumsy and comical on land, but they are excellent at flying and swimming. - Colugo has a large gliding membrane (like a flying squirrel), and they can glide for long distances between trees standing far apart. - Even if the Poodle Moth may look as if it lives in Antarctica with all this fur, in fact, it comes from Venezuela, a tropical country. Its hairs don’t serve for heating. BONUS Cloud Antelope! This species lives in the clouds (that’s why such a name)! Its bright blue fur is the reflection of cloudless blue skies in the area of its habitat. Its diet consists of sun rays and candies... What are Clouds and how do they form? - Geography for Kids | Educational Videos by Mocomi

01:50
https://mocomi.com/ presents: What are clouds made of? Watch this video with narration (background voice) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ-5rNgaqYs One of the most common sights in nature are clouds- white and fluffy, gray and overcast, or the brilliant colours they turn into at sunset. In terms of weather they are simply visible masses of tiny water droplets and a whole branch of study called cloud physics is dedicated to understanding this cotton candy-looking phenomenon. However, what are clouds made of? When the sun shines over rivers, lakes and oceans of the world it heats up the surface of the water. The water turns into gaseous water vapour on being heated and begins to rise into the air. As it goes higher, the water vapour begins to cool down and turns back into water droplets. The temperature at which water condenses is called the dew point. The dew point is not a constant because it depends on the amount of water present in the air. Tiny droplets of water hang suspended in the earth's atmosphere. The water vapour condenses into water to form clouds. Gravity brings the accumulated water down as rain. Clouds appear white because they allow light to pass through them. Since sunlight is white, the water droplets simply act like a canvas upon which the sun throws its rays. When trillions of water droplets get together in one cloud, they allow less and less light to pass through it, thus giving it a dark gray hue. This is also how we know that it is about to rain. What Causes a Thunderstorm?

02:38
Learn more about the GOES-R series of weather satellites! https://www.goes-r.gov/ Find more fun videos, activities, and articles about weather and Earth science! https://scijinks.gov "Shine Bright” by scottholmesmusic.com You’ve probably seen a big thunderstorm cloud roll into town. And the thunder, lightning, heavy rain, and gusty winds are hard to miss! But where did that thunderstorm come from? All thunderstorms follow the same recipe. To form, these storms require three basic ingredients: Moisture, unstable air and lift. Moisture in the air typically comes from the oceans—and areas near warm ocean currents evaporate lots of moisture into the air. Moisture in the air is also responsible for making clouds. Unstable air forms when warm, moist air is near the ground and cold, dry air is up above. To create a thunderstorm, the unstable air needs to have a nudge upward. This lift usually comes from differences in air density. Warmer, less dense air rises upward, creating lift. As the air lifts higher and higher, it causes a storm cloud to grow taller and taller. Thunderstorm clouds can rise up to 10 miles into the air! In a big thunderstorm cloud, there are now strong upward winds and downward winds happening at the same time. These are called updrafts and downdrafts. This is the most dangerous stage of the storm, when tornadoes, hail, winds and flooding can happen. Updrafts continue to fuel the storm with warm, moist air. But, once a storm runs out of updrafts, it starts to weaken. As a storm begins to slow down, the rain and wind become less intense. And by the end, all that’s left is a blue sky and an anvil-shaped cloud top. Phew! Glad that’s over! Sure, a storm will probably come again, but you don’t need to worry! Forecasters can use weather satellites, like those in NOAA’s GOES-R series, to monitor clouds as they grow into thunderstorms. GOES satellites watch out for lightning, too. These satellites are constantly watching for severe weather—and the information they gather can help people stay safe during storms.

Could We Just Keep All Our Trash Into Volcanos?

07:05
Humans produce millions of tons of trash each day, and getting rid of it has become a serious issue. Volcanoes are known for their destructive super powers, and they seem to be able to burn just about anything. What if it was possible to use volcanoes as the solution to our trash problem? Could they really be natural disposal stations? A truck, loaded with wastes, dumped into a lava dome would result in a massive explosion with a lava discharge, followed by an outbreak of toxic gas spreading in the air. Lots of huge electric discharges would go through the ash clouds and lightning would strike everywhere around the volcano. So it looks like volcanoes aren't the best place to dump your trash, after all. #volcanoes #whatif #brightside TIMESTAMPS: There are different types of volcanoes 0:37 Planetary trash overload 1:51 Why is it so hard to get rid of it? 2:42 Finding the right volcano type 3:40 What will happen if you actually dump trash in it? 5:42 A view of Mauna Loa taken from a Pu'u near The Onizuka Center for International Astronomy Visitor Information Station at the 9300 ft. level of Mauna Kea: By Madereugeneandrew - Own work, CC BY-SA 4.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=40170089 Animation is created by Bright Side. Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: -The first type of volcanoes are called Cinder Cones – they’re reactive, constantly spewing hot gases and lava up in the air. The calm volcanoes are not active enough and it’s too hard to reach their lava for it to be useful. The more stable type that would allow people to get close enough to dump trash is called a Shield Volcano. -The process of waste disposal needs to be stable, as humanity produces millions of tons of garbage each day. In a year, these numbers reach a stunning 2.12 billion tons worldwide. -The stink is only the beginning of the problem when it comes to burning plastic or rubber. Gas emissions are toxic and damaging to the environment, plus microscopic particles of plastic get mixed with drops of water in the atmosphere and then go back to earth. -The only type of volcano that might suit this purpose is called a Shield Volcano. The most well-known examples of them are Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea in Hawaii. Lava pools formed by Shield Volcanoes may look soft, but they suppress a huge threat underneath, that’s better left untouched. And where lava is, there’s also highly pressurized acidic steams that are immensely toxic for anyone around. -A truck, loaded with wastes, dumped into a lava dome would result in a massive explosion with a lava discharge, followed by an outbreak of toxic gas spreading in the air. Lots of huge electric discharges would go through the ash clouds and lightning would strike everywhere around the volcano. Where does Rain come from? - Water Cycle | Geography for Kids | Educational Videos by Mocomi

01:02
https://mocomi.com/ presents: Where does Rain come from? The sun shines on the sea water and heats it. The causes the water to evaporate and rise as water vapour. Once the water vapour reaches high in the sky, it condenses and forms clouds. These clouds are blown towards land by wind. The clouds precipitate over the land as rainfall. This cycle repeats itself. This is called a rain cycle. Thus we see that the water cycle in nature is basically made up of four main parts, these are: 1. Evaporation 2. Condensation 3. Precipitation 4. Is this the 'undulatus asperatus' cloud type over Nebraska?

Is this the 'undulatus asperatus' cloud type over Nebraska? Is this the 'undulatus asperatus' cloud type over Nebraska? Is this the 'undulatus asperatus' cloud type over Nebraska? 'Undulatus asperatus' seeks official classification in international atlas Type of cloud first photographed in Iowa could be added to atlas soon Called undulatus asperatus it would be the first new cloud type since 1951 Gavin Pretor-Pinney of the Cloud Appreciation Society is campaigning for the new classification The name translates as 'roughened wave' and is said to be a mammatus cloud that has been shaped by wind A decision will be made on its classification in November 2015 By JONATHAN O'CALLAGHAN FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 11:16 GMT, 18 December 2014 | UPDATED: 12:39 GMT, 18 December 2014 98 shares 19 View comments Since 1951 clouds have remained fairly easy to classify, with about 80 separate classifications officially recognised. But that could all be set to change next November if one enthusiast can seek official classification of a new cloud type. Known as Undulatus asperatus, a group are now clamouring for the cloud shape to be included in the International Cloud Atlas. The first part, ‘undulatus’, translates as ‘wavy’ and is already used to classify certain types of cloud. Asperatus, meanwhile is the past participle of aspero in Latin - which means ‘to roughen’. Thus, the name can be taken to mean ‘roughened wave’. The first images of the cloud formation were taken in Iowa in 2005, before members of the CAS started to find more examples around the world. In the gif above a time-lapse of this rare cloud type can be seen. It occurs when a mammatus cloud is pushed and pulled by the wind, giving rise to the bizarre shapes Graham Anderson, an observation scientist at the UK Met Office who also did his Masters on Asparatus clouds, told MailOnline this cloud type was very, very rare. This is one of the reasons it has not been classified yet, because evidence was needed from people taking pictures of the cloud type. It forms when ‘wind moves a mammatus cloud,’ Mr Anderson said. ‘One theory is that when you model conditions for a mammatus cloud and then add wind, it gets features that look like Undulatus,’ he continues.

According to the study, stratocumulus clouds cover 20 percent of tropical oceans and critically affect Earth's energy balance by reflecting 30-60 percent of shortwave radiation back into space. Researchers from the California Institute of Technology ran detailed simulations of cloud formation and the effects solar radiation had on them. Their results were published in the journal Nature. Scientists modeled a small patch of sky using a supercomputer to run simulations, and found that if carbon dioxide levels reach about 1,200 parts per million, or ppm, in the atmosphere, stratocumulus clouds break up. Currently, atmospheric carbon dioxide is around 410 ppm, however if the current trend of releasing more CO2 into the atmosphere continues at this pace, the Earth could reach 1,200 ppm in 100 to 150 years. The resulting loss of stratocumulus clouds could lead to an increase in temperature of 14 degrees Fahrenheit (8 degrees Celsius). More research will need to be carried out as the data from the study has not yet been replicated. RUNDOWN SHOWS: 1. Stratocumulus clouds disappearing over oceans as temperatures rise 2. Chemtrails over Essex: formation of artificial cirrus cloud over Chelmsford Part 1

01:41
Looking west from the east side of Chelmsford, this video shows fresh chemtrails. Parts 2 and 3 show the same trails spreading out, joining up and forming artificial cloud. Of particular interest are the W pattern trails with which the video begins and ends. Compare these with the same area of sky in parts 1 and 2. The following day, the Daily Express's headlines were "Monsoon Britain"http://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/480833/Britain-set-for-flash-floods This may indicate a connection between chemtrails and weather modification. However, chemtrails are aimed at achieving more than weather modification, see below. The Government's information sheet agrees with the Truth Movement on three out of five points: the trails are persistent, spread out and join up to form artificial cloud. However, the Met Office and mainstream media weather forecasters make no mention of such agreed phenomena, despite their contribution to cloud cover and light levels. The Government describes such trails as persistent condensation trails but doesn't explain how come they only started appearing in 1999 and why they are persistent. If they are condensation trails, made of ice particles or water moisture, they should melt into the air after the equivalent of 20 aircraft lengths or about 20 seconds. The fourth point is in dispute, that the trails are actually chemical trails and likewise the fifth point is in dispute, which is if they are chemicals, what their purpose is. The government also claims these trails are left by scheduled civil airline flights but this claim is easily undermined by reference to subscription websites showing real time air traffic. A convention signed in 1977 only applies to belligerants. Chemtrails are being used in peacetime in modern day north-west Europe and the USA, against the convention and in any case against natural law, thus constituting a crime against humanity. Chemtrails unlike condensation trails or contrails are persistent, are often formed directly at the fairings of the aircraft rather than some distance behind the engine exhausts as with contrails, feather outwards, are sprayed usually in programmed patterns e.g. grids, parallel lines and sometimes corkscrews and pentagrams and join up to form a solid layer of artificial cirrus cloud. Here is an interesting video of tankers operating from Mildenhall, Suffolk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJJ0P7ErM_E The substances being sprayed include aluminium, barium, fluoride and strontium. Levels of these substances in the soil and snow layers indicate a huge increase over the natural level recorded decades ago and the absence of traces under buildings built also several decades ago, proving aerial contamination as the source. Governments deny these activities are taking place. Some anecdotal evidence suggests pilots are being informed the spraying is to create a layer of reflective particles to reduce global warming. Putting aside the fact global warming is a hoax, such a layer would actually increase the greenhouse effect. The consensus emerging is that chemtrails are aimed at the human population, perhaps to make people receptive to new forms of microwave energy manipulation. Dr. Russell Blaylock, the US neurosurgeon, observes barium is used to accelerate absorption of other materials into the brain, in this case aluminium. Aluminium is a cause of autism, dementia and alzheimer's disease. Children are especially vulnerable to these chemicals as their brains are still developing. http://www.chemtrailsprojectuk.com/ http://www.geoengineeringwatch.org/category/chemtrails/ Documentary "What in the world are they spraying" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jf0khstYDLA Documentary "Why in the world are they spraying" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9VcWkFrXWY Chemtrails over Cheshire http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mxp_ejtTj_w USAF pilot and co-pilot filming chemtrail spraying and acknowledging the toxicity of the spray http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2z2ZzXFeKo Chemtrail tankers, transponders apparently off, on collision course with FedEx aircraft http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZGTS4W4C-c Whistleblower tanker pilot skywrites over New York (obviously not contrails as sprayed at will at same altitude) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfW-XslED0M Former USAF warrant officer blows whistle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAxXyMAmBMs Dr. John P. Noctilucent Clouds A Strange New Phenomenon

04:37
We've got some cool new space clouds that light up at night high in outer space. That's cool right? I became aware of them during the NASA Comet Ison video where they talked about getting double dusted and comets and meteors seeding our upper atmosphere. I love clouds. AND! This is still a mystery and partially unexplained, so that always makes it kind of neat when science has to admit it doesn't understand it all. Enjoy!

Chemtrails over Essex: formation of artificial cirrus cloud over Chelmsford

00:52
Looking west from the east side of Chelmsford, this video shows spreading chemtrails, part 2. Part 1 1/2hour earlier shows fresh trails and part 3 shows the same trails spreading out, joining up and forming artificial cloud. Of particular interest are the W pattern trails with which the sequence begins and ends. Compare these with the same area of sky in parts 1 and 3. Still photographs of chemtrail aircraft, internal and external https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6e3dLMD7a58 The following day, the Daily Express's headlines were "Monsoon Britain" http://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/480833/Britain-set-for-flash-floods This may indicate a connection between chemtrails and weather modification. John P. Temperature Trend Stalls, Clouds and Volcanic Particulate Overwhelm New Climate Model (416)

Support ADAPT 2030 on PATREON http://www.patreon.com/adapt2030 The new Community Earth System Model (CESM) put out such un-believable results in global weather pattern changes affecting crops and rainfall, where in quotes 'Things went wrong" as a description to what was produced as a result. The model was scrapped until "fixes" are added. I want to see the results as I think the particulate forcing that shocked the modelers was how quickly this will occur and what implications it has for crop yields globally based on volcanic dust and more clouds because of a 19% increase over the next solar cycle. Not A Cloud In the Sky Just Chemtrails and Sky Terrorists UK 24/04/13

02:50
Just another day of chemtrails/geoengineering. This was from the www.livescience.com website FILL THE AIR WITH SULFUR Certain types of aerosols, or tiny particles suspended in the air, are thought ot have an overall cooling effect on the atmosphere. These particles intercept some solar radiation and scatter it back into space. The cooling effect on the earth's climate can be seen after a volcanic eruption, which can spew millions of tons of sulfur into the atmosphere. Some scientists have suggested that we can mimic nature and inject a bunch of sulfur into the atmosphere to counteract global warming. One problem with this plan is the increased amount of acid rain this would create. Another is that sulfur would have to be regularly injected into the atmosphere ot keep up the cooling, or global warming would pick up right where it left off. My question is we know there are more chemicals that are being sprayed one of them being aluminium another barium. They deny doing this but we just have to look up at our skies and any fool can see aeroplanes are spraying us and our blue skies are disappearing. They say its global warming but after 10 years or more of messing around with our atmosphere one can only guess that global warming may have been created by our world scientists and there geoengineering project. If this is the case then this will have terrible consequences on our health and would explain why more cancers and other diseases are on the increase. Respiratory illnesses are at a record high. Please people do some research and spread the truth and one day you will make a difference. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago. Learning by listening is a great way to: - increases imagination and understanding - improves your listening skills - improves your own spoken accent - learn while on the move - reduce eye strain Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone. Water or various other chemicals may compose the droplets and crystals. On Earth, clouds are formed as a result of saturation of the air when it is cooled to its dew point, or when it gains sufficient moisture (usually in the form of water vapor) from an adjacent source to raise the dew point to the ambient temperature. They are seen in the Earth's homosphere (which includes the troposphere, stratosphere, and mesosphere). Nephology is the science of clouds, which is undertaken in the cloud physics branch of meteorology. There are two methods of naming clouds in their respective layers of the atmosphere; Latin and common. Cloud types in the troposphere, the atmospheric layer closest to Earth's surface, have Latin names due to the universal adaptation of Luke Howard's nomenclature. Formally proposed in 1802, it became the basis of a modern international system that divides clouds into five physical forms that appear in any or all of three altitude levels (formerly known as étages). These physical types, in approximate ascending order of convective activity, include stratiform sheets, cirriform wisps and patches, stratocumuliform layers (mainly structured as rolls, ripples, and patches), cumuliform heaps, and very large cumulonimbiform heaps that often show complex structure. The physical forms are divided by altitude level into ten basic genus-types. The Latin names for applicable high-level genera carry a cirro- prefix, and an alto- prefix is added to the names of the mid-level genus-types. Most of the genera can be subdivided into species and further subdivided into varieties. Very low stratiform clouds t ...

Interstellar Clouds and the Formation of Stars

21:48
Hannes Alfvén uses his concepts of plasma in the lab and within the solar system to build a model showing how interstellar clouds could be held together by electromagnetic forces and then shows how dust plays a crucial role in the sedimentation of this cloud into dust grains and then into larger balls, eventually forming a star.
