Attacking Exchange/OWA to Gain Access to AD Accounts - Tradecraft Security Weekly #3
Microsoft Exchange and Office365 are extremely popular products that organizations use for enterprise email. These services can be exploited by remote attackers to potentially gain access to Active Directory user credentials. In this Tradecraft Security Weekly episode Beau Bullock (@dafthack) demonstrates how to utilize MailSniper to enumerate internal domains, enumerate usernames, perform password spraying attacks, and get the global address list from Exchange and Office365 portals. Exchange and OWA attacks - Step by Step
Lately we released an attack where an evil bad guy (or tester) could easily bypass Outlook Web Access Two Factor Authentication to gain access to sensitive emails. We were hoping to see a change in the way OWA handled authentication. Instead, we we got an email from Microsoft stating this is not an issue anyone should worry about. We also saw several posts from exchange experts saying the same thing... But we think worrying is probably in order. This vulnerability is built on a year of work at BHIS. From OWA domain enumeration, to user enumeration, to password enumeration to bypass it has been a slow steady build on this attack. Well, now we will do a full, step-by-step walk through of the attack, from beginning to end, to demonstrate the risk. We will also re-enforce and highlight why the OWASP top 10 are still relevant and so key to this attack. Get the slides here: https://blackhillsinformationsecurity.shootproof.com/gallery/8014920
Server 2016 and 2012 R2 Remote PowerShell and PowerShell Web Access
Server 2016 and 2012 R2 Remote PowerShell and PowerShell Web Access When managing remote computers having remote PowerShell (a way that PowerShell logs in remotely) and/or PowerShell Web Access (a way to use powershell on a remote computer using a browser). This video shows how to log in using PowerShell the remote way and also how to setup the web access and then use it. For more visit: http://www.windows10.ninja http://www.2012r2.com Transcript (machine generated so it contains errors) Hello today were another show you how to use PowerShell in a remote scenario. So basically you can from here remote into another computer elsewhere in PowerShell prompt and basically use PowerShell on that computer to configure the computer seminar do maintenance, et cetera basically, the sky's the limit was possible. I get so very simply. Here we do we open our monad main PowerShell prompt service and 16 okay task type in PowerShell's quicker that way, and then right click and then run as administrator okay then we need to run this command. Enter – PS session again on the server name or the computer name that were trying to access and then – credential and the account username that you want logged again this case and said administrator okay, you can see it's now change. We are now in the remote computer and were running PowerShell on it. Okay, as an example. IP: St A. There we go, we can see the IP address of the computer. Okay, and were logged in, they are now. Now if we want to see what feature is we can install or what's already there. Get windows feature okay now we can the features you want to. In this case, let's add the windows PowerShell web access sold that'll now subtab the service are that the computer. Okay, so all we need to do is type in this long command install – windows feature – name and its windows PowerShell web access. We also want to include the management tools – include management tools and – restart if required. Okay, we press enter, and that should take some time. Okay, now how it works. When we logon using a browser. For example, Internet Explorer or over a year. We have our edge against a still the problem as it doesn't run in admin mode. However, we need to set up a SSL certificate on the Web server so by doing that we type and install – PSW a web application and that is – use test certificate. I get Armed that computer already has a test certificate setup. So that's fine. Okay. However, if it wasn't you have had to run that okay, now we just okay, now we need to basically give a damn authorisation rules okay what computers can access it which usernames can access it. In this case it in a secure way. However, it's a very quick way again to add – PSW a authorisation rule – ComputerName now you obviously Wanna specify which computers, rather than start. There are strict okay which is saying all and then – username once again start all and then – consideration name star again, you might be more specific, like for example on the server. 005 has access only the administrator has access, so that's that, let's first take the okay credit the rule. Okay, now all we need to do is go to Internet Explorer. Okay, so now all we need to do is in our favourite browser. Okay, go to this URL. Okay, which is basically HTTPS okay and then aged the computer name, and in/PSW way. Simple as that. Nothing major and I will bring us to this page. Okay, all you need to do then is type in what username you want to be logged on as a caregiver password. Okay, and were logging on to server 05 icates signing okay and were now on that computer. You know, so it's just the same as this. As you can see everything the same, so we have now shown you two ways of basically getting access to a remote computer and using PowerShell on that computer. Hopefully this help. Thank you for watching

Exchange and Office 365 Mail Contact Import using PowerShell
Automates bulk import of mail contacts into Exchange and Office 365 / Exchange Online from a CSV file using a PowerShell script. Provides a PowerShell-based tool to import (and later remove if needed) mail contacts into Exchange server or Exchange Online/Office 365 from a properly-formatted CSV file. Leverages automatic Exchange discovery to minimize configuration and software requirements. While there are a number of scripts available that perform a similar import function, they often require extra inputs and are confusing to use. The aim here is to remove as much of the friction as possible. Simply drop the solution files onto an up-to-date Windows 7/8/2008 R2/2012+ machine, and you should be able to run the script right away. This script creates mail contacts in Exchange (which are really objects in the associated Active Directory domain) from records in a comma-separated values (CSV) format. Welcome to Exchange Server 2019! - BRK2176
Exchange Server 2019 releases at the end of this year and we want to tell you about it! Come and learn what's new in 2019 and how our engineers changed the way they build the software. We talk about the features from the cloud we've added to on-premises, and tell you why this is the most reliable and dependable version of Exchange ever. Will we reduce disk IO AGAIN? Maybe. Will you be able to take advantage of bigger servers with more processors and memory? Perhaps. Will we finally make Exchange PowerShell easy to use? Unlikely, but it's worth coming to find out, isn't it?

Exchange 2010: Support for UPN credentials in OWA change password feature

See So you want to change your expired passwords in OWA... for details. Since then you've sent us many requests for supporting the use of User Principal Name (UPN) format in the same feature. Previously only domain\username format was supported when entering domain credentials. We passed on that feedback to Exchange PMs and we're glad to let you know that the support for UPN credentials is now available in Exchange 2010 SP1 RU3-V3, which was released recently.
