Here’s what school lunches around the world look like. Meals for kids in different countries are truly amazing and surprising! Every country has its standards for school meals. Some schools offer convenience food and snacks for lunch, and some cook set meals for students. What do you think the most popular ingredients of school lunches are? Well, how about octopus, kimchi, or chili? Are you curious what kids eat in South Korea? What they prefer in Turkey? Some of those lunches are quite unusual. Watch and try to find your childhood meals! TIMESTAMPS South Korea 0:41 Japan 1:23 Turkey 1:55 Thailand 2:28 France 2:59 Finland 3:28 Russia 4:08 Hungary 4:34 Israel 4:53 Colombia 5:25 Italy 5:55 Australia 6:37 Chile 7:11 SUMMARY - The system of planning school meals in South Korea is one of the best in the world. Lunches are served on special trays. The two biggest sections of the tray are usually for soup and rice. Smaller sections are for salads, seafood, veggies, and fruit. - Japanese school lunches are almost the same as the South Korean ones: hot soup, rice, poultry or fish, salad, and milk. Students are not allowed to bring their food with them until they reach high school. - It's interesting that, though children in Turkey have 1 hour for lunch, cafeterias are rare in this country. So students either go home for lunch (which might be hard to do if you live on the other side of the town!) or take food from home. - Students in Thailand don't eat in the canteen, just like their "colleagues" from Japan. They are usually given soup, pork in sweet and sour sauce, rice, and a pudding wrapped in banana leaves. - Typical lunch served in the west of France looks very healthy. It is fish, spinach, potatoes, cheese, and bread. It is quite big as the French consider lunch the main meal of the day. - Finland takes school lunches very seriously. Every student is offered snacks during the morning and evening classes, as well as lunch. Children eat their lunches in a canteen where they can choose whatever they want from a large variety of dishes. - In Russia, students can have free breakfast from 9 a.m. till 12 p.m. Lunches after 12 p.m. are paid. Children sometimes have lunch at home if they live near the school. If it is a school lunch, it is usually soup, fish or meat with a side dish of rice or buckwheat, and compote. - Hungary is famous for its big portions in restaurants and cafes. Same goes for school lunches. Children have several courses, with, for example, noodle soup, baked beans with chicken, and nuts for dessert. - Israel schools have the policy of a healthy diet. The government banned fatty and sugary things from school lunches. But the thing is that children mostly bring their meals from home. - 60-70% of children in Colombia are given free nutritious lunches. Students of state schools eat one hot meal a day. Their typical meal consists of soup, rice or pasta, salad, meat, and fruit juice. - Before lunch, in the morning, children get snacks (crackers, breadsticks, fresh fruit, or homemade cookies). For lunch they get two courses: a first course is often pasta or rice with seafood or vegetables, a second course - fish, meat, or cheese. - Authorities in Australia fight against children's obesity. That's why products rich in sugar, salt, and fat are forced out of school menu. But you can find their healthier replacements such as sandwiches, sushi, corn and fruit available at any time. - Students in Chile have nice and varied lunches. An example can be a meal with rice, beef roll, French fries, salad, avocado, orange juice, and fruit in the sauce for dessert. Without a consistent nutritional approach to back it up, even the best muscle gaining training protocol can end up being a fat-loss program, a fat-gain program, or just a "look exactly the same" program. ► Shop Animal Supplements: http://bbcom.me/2DPMzvp ► Premium Fitness Plans: http://bbcom.me/2DQ7j60 ► Evan Centopani's Iron Intelligence Training Program: http://bbcom.me/2DRGWN1 That's one reason why Evan Centopani says that as a professional bodybuilder, he is also a "professional eater." He takes this stuff very seriously. If you want to get the most out of his groundbreaking program Iron Intelligence, learning what you can from his nutritional approach is a must. Before you lift a single weight, do yourself a favor and watch this nutritional day in the life of one of the world's top bodybuilders. No, you don't have to eat as much as a 275-pound bodybuilder does to be successful with this program—although we've provided that info if you want to try. But you'll probably have to eat more than you're accustomed to, both in terms of protein and vegetables. If you watched Evan's video "How an IFBB Pro Really Eats," you know the man can put away serious amounts of kale. This won't be easy. But will it be worth it? Well, I'll let you decide once you start struggling to find a pair of pants that fit over your quads. | How Much to Eat | - Calories are necessary to drive growth, but not at the expense of throwing nutrient quality and your health out the window. Evan insists that food quality is crucial. "If you're constantly eating like crap, you're going to train like crap," he says. - That's not a recipe for growth. Rather than focusing purely on protein, carbohydrates, and fat, he adds a fourth mandatory "macro"—vegetables—and he encourages you to do the same. - Here are the macros he recommends for anyone following Iron Intelligence: Protein: 1.5 grams per pound of body weight per day Carbohydrates: 1.5 grams per pound of body weight per day Healthy Fats: 0.65 grams per pound of body weight per day Vegetables: 2 grams per pound of body weight per day Remember that the numbers above serve as a starting point, not a set-in-stone prescription. Begin by figuring out how many calories you need per day by using Bodybuilding.com's calorie calculator. Make sure you select "weight gain" and choose either "moderately" or "very" active, depending on your job and lifestyle outside of the gym. | What to Eat | Protein Sources: Chicken and turkey breast, chicken liver, lean red meat (90/10 ground, flank steak, sirloin, filet), white fish (cod, fluke, flounder, sole), eggs, whey protein Carbohydrate Sources: Rice (white, brown, jasmine), sweet or white potatoes, oats, fruit, oat flour, brown rice syrup Fats: Nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans, macadamia nuts), seeds (pumpkin, flax, sunflower), avocado, olive oil, canola oil Vegetables: Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, collard greens, kale, bell peppers, carrots, rutabaga, turnips, squash ============================================= | Evan Centopani's Recommended Supplements | ► Animal Fury Pre-Workout: http://bbcom.me/2DPApTg ► Animal Whey: http://bbcom.me/2DRhEPr ► Animal Omega: http://bbcom.me/2DOEOWA ► Animal Pak: http://bbcom.me/2DSyEEA ► Universal Carbo Plus: http://bbcom.me/2DRi5t3 ► Universal Creatine: http://bbcom.me/2DNSfG1 ► Animal Shake Cup: http://bbcom.me/2DQpkBk | Animal Clothing & Accessories | ► Animal Iron Intelligence Iconic T-Shirt: http://bbcom.me/2DRGRcb ► Animal Iconic Tank: http://bbcom.me/2DP29Hn ► Animal Iconic T-Shirt: http://bbcom.me/2DPNnjV ► Animal Pullover Hoodie: http://bbcom.me/2DP5GWu ► Animal Zip Up Hoodie: http://bbcom.me/2DQpdpo ► Animal Sweatpants: http://bbcom.me/2DQpkkO ► Animal Beanie: http://bbcom.me/2DOEwis ► Animal Gym Bag: http://bbcom.me/2DQ7b6w ► Animal Wrist Wraps: http://bbcom.me/2DRjz6i ► Animal Pro Lifting Straps: http://bbcom.me/2DOEcQM ============================================= | Bodybuilding.com | ► Supplement Store: http://bbcom.me/2DQEmqT ► Sales & Specials: http://bbcom.me/2DOZBt2 ► Fitness Articles: http://bbcom.me/2DOZDkE ► Premium Fitness Plans: http://bbcom.me/2DQ7j60 ============================================= | Follow Us | ► Twitch: http://bit.ly/2q1dttE ► YouTube: http://bit.ly/1RSJFa4 ► Facebook: http://on.fb.me/1lomhpr ► Instagram: http://bit.ly/1LzBxab ► Twitter: http://bit.ly/1RSJQlL ► Google+: http://bit.ly/1NRe8qu ► Pinterest: http://bit.ly/1OOZgY4 ► Spotify: http://spoti.fi/1NRebm0 We are Bodybuilding.com. We all know the importance of eating healthy, but not everyone knows that the cookware you use to prepare your dishes is just as important as the food itself. Even the healthiest diet can result in severe health problems if your pots and pans are toxic. Find out which cookware you should avoid by all means for the sake of your own health and the health of your family. The non-stick properties of Teflon cookware are achieved with a coating of PTFE. This is a plastic polymer that, when heated above 572°F, starts to release toxins. These toxic fumes lead to flu-like symptoms called polymer fume fever, informally known as Teflon flu. Another chemical compound found in Teflon cookware is especially threatening since it tends to stay in the body (as well as in the environment) for long periods of time. Try cast-iron cookware instead. It even comes in non-stick varieties. It doesn't leak anything toxic into your food and is actually a nice natural way to increase your body’s iron levels. Though aluminum cookware is usually coated, the coating is prone to chipping, allowing the toxic metal to get right into your food. As for aluminum foil, using it while cooking is even more dangerous. In fact, there’s an established safe amount of aluminum the human body can manage daily, and that’s 20 mg per pound of body weight a day. When you wrap your food in aluminum foil and cook it this way, the amount of this substance that leaks into the food significantly exceeds the permissible level. Consider using glass cookware instead. If you’ve just enjoyed some fish in lemon juice or stewed tomatoes cooked in an uncoated copper pot and you find yourself suffering from extremely unpleasant symptoms (such as vomiting blood, light-headedness, yellowy skin, or gastrointestinal distress, among others) call 911 immediately. Try this safe alternative instead: stainless steel. Just make sure you're buying food-grade stainless steel since this is the only type that doesn't contain any nickel or chromium. Soft ceramic coating isn't durable enough and starts chipping after a few months of daily use. When this happens, lead and cadmium sometimes found in the coating will end up in your food and, thus, in your body. Lead poisoning is one of the most dangerous types of metal poisoning and can result in abdominal pain, headaches, infertility, and other health complications. Try this safe alternative instead: 100% ceramic cookware. TIMESTAMPS Teflon cookware 0:38 Aluminum cookware and aluminum foil 3:31 Copper cookware 5:12 Ceramic-coated cookware 6:54 SUMMARY -Teflon contains plastic polymer that, when heated above 572°F, starts to release toxins. Try this safe alternative instead: real cast-iron. This is a nontoxic cooking option that truly withstands the test of time. It heats well and evenly throughout. -Aluminum is a neurotoxic metal. Elevated levels of aluminum in the body have been linked to several central nervous system diseases, including Alzheimer's and ALS. Try this safe alternative instead: glass cookware. It’ll never release anything toxic when heated, it doesn’t hold onto any old flavors or odors, and it's not only durable but also eco-friendly. -Copper cookware, especially when it isn’t coated, can easily send you to the ER with a bad case of metal poisoning. And that’s because it can release copper when you cook acidic foods. Stainless steel is a great cookware option: it's relatively lightweight, scratch-resistant, and comes in non-stick varieties. -Soft ceramic coating isn't durable enough and starts chipping after a few months of daily use. When this happens, lead and cadmium sometimes found in the coating will end up in your food and, thus, in your body. Try this safe alternative instead: 100% ceramic cookware. This is one of the best and safest options out there since it's made with completely natural materials, it isn't toxic, and it won't chip or peel off. Yes, even wars have laws. To find out more, visit http://therulesofwar.org ******** Rules of War in a Nutshell - script Since the beginning, humans have resorted to violence as a way to settle disagreements. Yet through the ages, people from around the world have tried to limit the brutality of war. It was this humanitarian spirit that led to the First Geneva Convention of 1864,and to the birth of modern International Humanitarian Law. Setting the basic limits on how wars can be fought, these universal laws of war protect those not fighting, as well as those no longer able to. To do this, a distinction must always be made between who or what may be attacked, and who or what must be spared and protected. - CIVILIANS - Most importantly, civilians can never be targeted. To do so is a war crime. “When they drove into our village, they shouted that they were going to kill everyone. I was so scared, I ran to hide in the bush. I heard my mother screaming. I thought I would never see her again.” Every possible care must be taken to avoid harming civilians or destroying things essential for their survival. They have a right to receive the help they need. - DETAINEES - “The conditions prisoners lived in never used to bother me. People like him were the reason my brother was dead. He was the enemy and was nothing to me. But then I realized that behind bars, he was out of action and no longer a threat to me or my family.” The laws of war prohibit torture and other ill-treatment of detainees, whatever their past. They must be given food and water and allowed to communicate with loved ones. This preserves their dignity and keeps them alive. - SICK & WOUNDED - Medical workers save lives, sometimes in the most dangerous conditions. “Several fighters from both sides had been critically wounded in a fierce battle and we were taking them to the closest hospital. At a checkpoint, a soldier threatened us, demanding that we only treat his men. Time was running out and I was afraid they were all going to die.” Medical workers must always be allowed to do their job and the Red Cross or Red Crescent must not be attacked. The sick or wounded have a right to be cared for, regardless of whose side they are on. - LIMITS TO WARFARE - Advances in weapons technology has meant that the rules of war have also had to adapt. Because some weapons and methods of warfare don't distinguish between fighters and civilians, limits on their use have been agreed. In the future, wars may be fought with fully autonomous robots. But will such robots ever have the ability to distinguish between a military target and someone who must never be attacked? No matter how sophisticated weapons become it is essential that they are in line with the rules of war. International Humanitarian Law is all about making choices that preserve a minimum of human dignity in times of war, and makes sure that living together again is possible once the last bullet has been shot.

EGG-SHELLENT HACKS Eggs are easy to cook! They're cheap. I'm pretty sure you have them in the fridge right now. But how to make sure each time you cook eggs you can create a little masterpiece?! These egg hacks will surely help you with that! Some people put the eggs in cold water others put water to boiling then drop in the egg. Both methods have advantages and disadvantages. The difference is in how fast you heat up the egg. Starting with cold water, lets you heat the egg more slowly, which keeps the whites from getting rubbery. This method takes longer and gives you less control over the cooking time. Besides the egg will be harder to peel. In boiling water, the egg heats up really fast, making it much easier to control cooking time. But this method has a . Because the egg heats up so fast the shell can crack. And how to get that perfectly peeled egg each time?! Place your eggs in boiling water and cook for a certain amount of time. Then place your eggs into an ice bath and leave them there for about 10 - 15 minutes. After that peeling the egg is very easy. Just tap it at the table, roll it a few times and the shell will go off by itself. Perfect! How long should you cook the eggs? If you cook the eggs in the already boiling water you will always be able to control the result, you'll see in the video how the yolk looks like depending on the cooking time! Pick those to your liking! We’re done with boiled eggs. Let’s get on to fried ones. We have the pan on medium heat. Let’s add some butter. Now break your egg carefully. The heat should be sufficient but not to high, so that white cooks but doesn’t bubble. And here comes the egg hack – adding a bit of water and now we put the lid on. This creates a kind of a steam bath for an egg. Which results in a beautiful bright egg yolk and a cooked through white. And last but not the least way of cooking the eggs- scrambled eggs. First let’s crack the eggs into the bowl. Oops, a piece of the shell fell right in! If you don’t like your scrambled eggs with a shell. Then get a shell from a broken egg and use it to get broken piece out of the bowl. To cook those perfect scrambled eggs, you need to beat them in a bowl. Then seize in with salt and pepper to taste. Now melt some butter in the pan. There should be quite a lot of it. Next, pour the eggs in and wait. Make sure to keep the heat pretty low. When the eggs start to settle on the edge, take your spatula and start stirring the eggs from the outside in. When the eggs are about 2/3 cooked, we need to use another egg hack and a little bit more butter. Melt the butter and it will get our scrambled eggs a wonderful creamy taste. When you think the eggs need little bit more cooking, remove them from the heat. This 1-Day Diet RESETS Hormones (for people OVER-40 ONLY) http://gl12.net/ytbestfood REFERENCES: Protein & Metabolic Rate: Journal of American College Nutrition https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11838888 Protein, weight loss, and hunger: International Journal of Obesity https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4424378/ Protein & Thermic Effect: Journal of Nutrition & Metabolism https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC524030/ Protein & Muscle Loss: Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19927027/ Prebedtime protein increases skeletal muscle synthesis: Journal Nutrients https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27916799 Are you doing the keto diet? If so, pay close attention because inside this video, I'm going to uncover the number 1 food that people over 40 years old should eat in every single meal and should intentionally directly before bed. And, ironically, we're told to avoid eating this food on a keto diet. Now, I also want to share with you a brand new, innovative, 1-day hormone-resetting diet protocol that I created. Super excited to share this with you. You can learn about it by clicking or tapping the link around this video. It's specifically designed to reset the hormones that help people over 40 years old manage their weight, boost their metabolism, and fight the aging process. Now, when you go over to my website, you're going to see a couple dozen different studies so you know everything I'm talking about inside this video and over at my web page is backed up by real science. But let's first, let's talk about what this 1 particular food is that can help you get all these amazing benefits. I have several studies right in front of me here, research studies, showing that when you include protein in every single meal and you eat protein before bed, research shows that it can boost your metabolism. It can help you burn more calories. It eliminates hunger and cravings. We all know hunger and cravings are the death of any diet. And research shows it can help you more easily manage your weight. I mean, if you're boosting your metabolism, you're burning more calories, and you're eliminating your hunger and cravings, how much easier is it going to be to manage your weight? So make sure that you're including protein in every single meal and eating a high-quality protein right before bed. Now, the key is is understanding how to time your protein the right way and how to combine it the right way. This is what's going to help you reset your hormones. And that's what I teach you how to do inside my system over at my website. But the first positive benefit the research shows that protein has by eating it in every meal, it's called diet-induced thermogenesis, DIT. And this is just a number that they attach to food that basically shows how many calories your body will burn when it digests a macronutrient. Now, when you digest fats, remember, keto diet, 75% to 80% fats. Now, I'm not against the keto diet, but the reality is, the DIT of fats is only 3% to 5%. The DIT of carbs is 10%. But the DIT of protein, 30%. So your body will burn 3 to 5 times more calories digesting protein than it does digesting fats or carbohydrates. Now, the research studies also show that when you eat protein in every single meal, it helps you take control of a hormone called ghrelin. Ghrelin helps you control your hunger and your cravings. So there's several reasons why you should include protein in every single meal. I'll go ahead and post the research studies from everything I was talking about on protein. I have 5 different studies. And what I'll do is, I'll post them below in the comments for those who are interested. But make sure that you take advantage of protein by timing it the right way. And when you time it the right way just 3 or 4 days of the week using my 1-day hormone-resetting protocol, you can actually increase growth hormone over a thousand percent. When you combine protein the right away with other foods, you take control of insulin. So it keeps your body in an environment where you have better energy and you can more easily manage your weight. Now, the last part of my 1-day hormone-resetting protocol is strategic high-carb cheat meals. You see, when you eat strategic high-carb cheat meals at a specific time each week, research shows it can reset your leptin sensitivity. Leptin is the hormone that manages your weight, and it can increase your thyroid hormones because glucose from carbs is the primary building block of thyroid hormones.

I found articles saying that eating dessert first is good. What's the real story. Chef Marcus Guiliano is an award-winning chef, green restaurateur, real food activist, professional speaker, restaurant consultant & ultra-marathoner. Devoting his career to a whole food, whole life approach, Chef Marcus has coined the phrase Eco-Lectic Cuisine. The notion behind Eco-Lectic Cuisine is how Chef Marcus marries healthy food with ethically and socially responsible sustainable business practices. Marcus is often heard saying, “It's the whole picture that matters." Chef Marcus had to overcome a handful of health challenges in the late 90s. He was able to eliminate all of the medications he was taking and in the transition cure an asthmatic condition he had from birth. After overcoming his various health challenges, Chef Marcus was invited to contribute over 200 recipes to several Dr. Gary Null's books. In addition to successfully owning and operating the first Green Certified restaurant in the Hudson Valley, Aroma Thyme Bistro, Chef Marcus has begun to devote his time consulting and trouble shooting for other restaurants. His master consulting project is www.50mistakes.com: an free online cyber coaching tool for applicable to all businesses, not just restaurants. Garnering his passion for clean, sustainable, healthy food choices, Chef Marcus has launched other activist/watchdog oriented sites including: NoFarmedSalmon.com, ChefonaMission.com & the controversial FoodFraudTV.com. On FoodFraudTV.com , Chef Marcus has called out fellow chefs for not being honest to their patrons on their menus. Chef Marcus has a rather large following on YouTube and his videos can be found under the moniker: MarcusG.tv. Chef Marcus has been featured on CNN, Dr OZ, New York Post, New York Times, TEDx Longdock, Best Chef's America, Sierra Club Magazine, Huffington Post, International Wine Masters, Bottom Line Publications, Smithsonian (Online) and Organic Spa Magazine. The Colorado Dept of Agriculture stated, “Marcus Guiliano is the Willie Nelson of Farm to Table”. Recently, OneGreenPlanet.com named Chef Marcus as one of The “5 Food Activists Helping To Make Big Changes." Most days Chef Marcus can be found pursing his passion of food at his restaurant Aroma Thyme Bistro or on pursuing his passion for running on one of the many country roads and trails surrounding his restaurant. AIRBNB Promo Code Here: http://www.airbnb.com/c/eheussaff Please subscribe! http://goo.gl/TAhuPT Solenn and I were looking for a new challenge this year. So we decided to do a 7 day fast. The premise is simple, 7 full days, no food, just water. NOTHING ELSE. No juices, tea, coffee, broths, vitamins, etc... If it's not just water, it's not a water fast :) Some people say it's good for you, some say it's bad. I think we are smart enough to know when something isn't working. It's great to catch up with friends and share food. But there's more to life than eating and drinking. There's more to life than natural needs and wants. Our hunger for love, significance, and happiness is a universal human experience. How can you live life to the full? Could the problem be that we're all too easily pleased? Who's the one that can really satisfy our souls forever? Source: https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-jx5vi-a7a4d9 Dr. Michael Klaper, Moving Medicine Forward Dr. Klaper resolutely believes that proper nutrition — through a whole food, plant-based diet — and a balanced lifestyle are essential for health and, in many cases, can make the difference between healing an illness or merely treating its symptoms. He is a gifted clinician, internationally-recognized teacher, and sought-after speaker on diet and health. In addition to his clinical practice and private consultations with patients, he is a passionate and devoted educator of physicians and other healthcare professionals about the importance of nutrition in clinical practice and integrative medicine. Dr. Klaper is the author of Vegan Nutrition; Pure & Simple and has produced numerous health videos, webinars and dozens of articles for both scientific journals and the popular press. As a source of inspiration advocating plant-based diets and the end of animal cruelty worldwide, Dr. Klaper contributed to the making of two PBS television programs, Food for Thought and the award-winning movie, Diet for a New America (based on the book of the same name). Dr. Klaper teaches that “Health Comes From Healthy Living” and he is dedicated to the healing and flourishing of all living beings and our planet. Dr. Michael Klaper graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1972. He served a medical internship at Vancouver General Hospital in British Columbia, Canada and received training in surgery, anesthesiology and orthopedics at the University of British Columbia Hospital in Vancouver. Additionally, he was trained in obstetrics at the University of California Hospital, San Francisco. As his medical career progressed, Dr. Klaper began to realize (true to what science is bearing out today) that many of the diseases his patients presented – clogged arteries (atherosclerosis), high blood pressure (hypertension), obesity, adult-onset diabetes and even some forms of arthritis, asthma, and other significant illnesses – were made worse or actually caused by the high sugar, high fat, high salt, overly processed, animal product-based, Standard American Diet (S.A.D.). Dr. Klaper served as Director of the Institute of Nutrition Education and Research from 1992 through 2015, where he conducted a study that focused on people who ate a completely plant-based or vegan diet. Dr. Klaper practiced acute care medicine in New Zealand for three years and from 2009 through 2018, served on staff at the TrueNorth Health Center, North America’s premier nutritionally-based medical clinic that specializes in therapeutic fasting and health improvement through a whole food, plant-based diet. A member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Dr. Klaper was a member of the American Medical Student Association’s Nutrition Task Force and currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Plantrician Project and the “International Journal of Disease Reversal and Prevention.” For over 10 years, Dr. Klaper hosted a popular medical information radio program “Sounds of Healing” on WPFW in Washington, DC and KAOI on Maui, Hawaii. Dr. Michael Klaper is licensed to practice medicine in California and Hawaii.

How to sleep easily on a plane? People who can easily fall asleep on a plane are among the lucky few because most of us aren’t able to doze off in a cramped space, sitting in such an uncomfortable position and surrounded by total strangers. What if we told you there are some simple tricks that can help you catch some Z’s on board? Who knew that flying on a Tuesday or keeping your seat belt fastened could actually make a difference? TIMESTAMPS Night is the best time for a flight 0:34 The best days to fly are Tuesdays and Wednesdays 1:27 The perfect seat is by the window 2:16 Tilt your seat back to the max 3:17 Clothes should be warm and comfortable 3:58 Fasten your seat belt over your clothes 4:43 Get yourself some sleeping accessories 5:25 Control the scents around you 6:05 Put your gadgets away 6:59 Food and drinks 7:34 SUMMARY - It’s great if you can pick a flight for the time you usually sleep at. Wake up 2-3 hours earlier on the day of your flight to help you fall asleep faster on board later on. - If you want fewer passengers and more space, pick the most unpopular days for booking flights: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, as a rule. You might even get up to 3 seats to yourself! - Always try to pick a window seat to rest your head on the wall and not be bothered by your neighbor wanting to get up to go to the bathroom. If you normally sleep on your left side, aim for seat A. If your right side is your preferred sleeping position, pick the window seat on the opposite side of the plane. - If you want good quality sleep in the cabin, adjust your seat as far back as it’ll go. Just make sure the person behind you doesn’t mind. - To have a sound nap onboard, you should wear loose clothes made of natural materials that don’t constrict your movements. If your airline doesn’t provide blankets, take a jacket and warm socks too. - A seat belt fastened over your clothes or blanket won’t make your sleep more comfortable, but it will prevent flight attendants from waking you up if the plane experiences turbulence. - Light and noise are the main culprits that keep you from getting needed shuteye. So this answer might be obvious: use a sleeping mask and earplugs! - You can control the scents in your immediate surrounding. Just sprinkle the head rest or your travel pillow with some lavender oil or any other essential oil you like. - Don’t watch movies on your phone, tablet, or laptop because the blue light of the screen wakes your brain up. Most sleep experts say you should put away all your electronics at least half an hour, or, better yet, an hour before you plan on dozing off. - If you want to be fast asleep, don’t overeat onboard. The food should be light and healthy, while the best drink option is tea (the herbal variety is perfect) or just plain water. Have your own tricks to share? How to make a journey by plane comfortable? What to wear on a plane and what to avoid? Here's 10 tips from flight attendants and travelers about things not to wear on a plane. Whether you’re choosing an outfit for a short or a long-distance flight, it’s important that you feel comfortable while staying out of trouble at the same time. Watch it and figure out which clothes can put your journey to a halt right at the plane’s door! Remember, you can totally make comfort look stylish! For example, a maxi dress paired with a denim jacket will look very fashionable, while simultaneously providing all the comfort you need. TIMESTAMPS Perfume 0:35 Tight clothes 1:19 Complicated items 2:16 Clothes or jewelry containing metal 2:49 Summer clothes 3:37 Contact lenses 4:34 High heels 5:05 T-shirts with offensive text 6:31 Itchy fabrics 7:44 Baggy clothes 8:21 How to dress for a journey by plane 9:12 BONUS 9:58 SUMMARY - Avoid heavy perfumes for the sake of your fellow passengers. A prevailing number of people find scented products on others irritating, and there also could be people with allergies and asthma on the flight. - Avoid tight clothing, especially when your flight is longer than 4 hours. People on a long-distance flight are at a risk of developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis). - Clothes with a lot of buttons and zippers won't make your flight experience the most comfortable one. - The best thing to do is to go for natural materials and take off any jewelry (even gold, which seems safe enough to wear) until you pass completely through security screening. - It makes sense to have different layers of clothes – this way, you can always control how warmly you’re dressed. What is more, if your luggage is lost (we all know that the chances of this happening are quite high), you will always have a spare change of clothes. - In an aircraft, the average humidity can get as low as 10-20%, and in extreme cases, it can drop down to 1 percent! - Not only can heels potentially be used to store prohibited items, but they also contain an internal metal construction that will definitely set off the alarm. Nobody would enjoy standing barefoot on the airport floor. - There have been people prohibited from boarding a plane because of the way they were dressed. The reasons can vary: too much cleavage, a low-cut dress, saggy pants, an offensive T-shirt, bare feet, or even leggings while flying on an airline's employee pass. - avoid itchy and scratchy clothes - they will definitely become a bother on the flight. The thing is, hot and cold temperature fluctuations on a plane make your skin very sensitive. - Tracy Edwards, who works for AAA Travel Sales, says that if you want to pass through security quickly, you should avoid loose-fitting clothes. There is a one hundred percent chance that you will be stopped for additional screening because you’ll look like you’re hiding something under your huge hoodie. Check the airline’s dress code. Such a policy can be found on their website. If your dream isn't to become famous for being kicked off a plane because of your leggings, study it carefully. By the way, that last example with the leggings is based on a real story. It happened to 2 teenage girls flying with United Airlines. They missed their flight since their leggings failed to comply with the dress code of the airline!
