Today’s caller, Don, recently reunited with his partner after a seven-month break from their long-distance relationship and would like guidance on how to make sure he gets what he needs from the relationship during the ‘do-over.’ So many of us go into the compensatory strategy of over-achieving whenever we feel ‘less than’ in any way. Whenever we feel less than our ego has to come up with a way to compensate for it. It only serves to distance ourselves from who we truly are. When we are out there consistently trying to prove ourselves we are unconsciously running with the belief that we are never enough. We look for external validation through the acknowledgment of others. Many people who believe they have ‘good’ childhoods often minimize something that happened that impacts the rest of their life. Issues in relationships CAN be resolved through communication. Create agreements in your relationship rather than expectations. Don’t expect the other person to read your mind and don’t think that just because you say something it’s ‘message sent, message received.’ Be sensitive about your partner’s needs; make agreements about how you can reassure them and how you can meet their needs. If you meet the agreements and it still isn’t working then it’s time to reevaluate the relationship to ensure it’s a value match. He overcompensates to get attention. His relationship choices are based on safety. He doesn’t know true intimacy. He wants to be appreciated for just being him. He has trust issues. How to Get Over It and On With It: He needs to get clear about what he values and what he deserves from a relationship. He needs to express his needs and make clear agreements. He needs to fall in love with himself. He needs to be in gratitude to himself. Assignments For You: No relationship with others is bulletproof. So, don’t put pressure on it to be. Evaluate your relationship with yourself. Is it a healthy relationship? Identify your compensatory strategies. Give from your energy overflow. Don’t empty yourself out. Nahmei is aware she has beliefs that are not serving her and she is aware of where these limiting beliefs came from yet they continue to drive her behavior and choices. She is having difficulty shifting the way she feels inside This session is a beautiful, courageous example of how we can go into our pain. Having awareness just isn’t enough We may have a lot of awareness about what our limiting beliefs are and how they got there but until we actually feel differently inside, until we shift it from a concept to embodying it into a physical, visceral experience, it is hard to get behavior and feelings to shift. Many times we think going into our pain has to be dark and dramatic, and sometimes we do have to go into deep, raw stuff which is highly emotional, but a lot of times it’s just going into the depths to reach the sadness and tenderness. We spend so much time resisting our pain and being afraid to go back to our memories but going back and dealing with them creates more peace inside. My coaching was to help Nohemi take her power back in a feminine way. Not by fighting, hating, judging, and not by being hard on herself but by going into deep levels of compassion and acceptance. Don't be afraid of doing the deep work, don't be afraid of the memories. You can take your power back through love and compassion. Now you may have noticed if you joined a Facebook group recently that like in this case when you click join group you are prompted to answer some questions by the administrator of the group. And they are then able to determine whether they admit you to the group or not. So it stops from the administrators point of view any spam accounts joining automatically. It gives you an extra bit of insight into the people who want to join and why they want to join. So it's a great feature. And I'm going to show you in this video how to set it up as an admin for a group. Here we go. So here I am in the group that I manage and I need to go to the option where it says manage group. And then under admin activity there's the option member requests. So I click there. And here in blue text you can see ask pending members questions. So to set the questions up click there. You've got up to 250 characters there you can use to reply and only the admins or moderators of the group can see those.answers. So let's do it along the lines of what I've previously shown you there. So I'm going to say Do you use social media for business as well as personally?"How did you hear about us?Always good to get some feedback. And finally how many hours a week do you typically spend on social media? Now you could have as much detail as you like in those questions. I think it's a maximum of 3 questions. Then save that. Click OK and then once those questions are answered by the people coming to your group you can then filter those requests by questions so you can say who's answered the questions who didn't answer the questions or all of them. You can also filter here through the people who've asked to join by people who are in other groups that you already manage so you are already familiar with them. Whether or not they were invited by someone within the group or asked to join from the public. So lots of different filters you can apply to make sure that you've got a quality and very engaged set of people who actually want to join groups. We've had this problem in the past where people who are friends on Facebook have added their friends to groups that they are not necessarily interested in and not likely to take any actions , get involved in a group. So this way you get to know a little bit about them. Don't make it too involved you don't want too much to put them off joining the group if you definitely think they are the right people. So maybe one question to start with trial it out and then you can see how you go from there. But yes, great option , really useful addition to Facebook groups , and I've got a lot of other videos and content on new things like scheduling in Facebook groups. Chrystal’s limiting beliefs around trust began when her father left the family to return to his home country. She took on her father’s issues by personalizing the event and she is still triggered by the event, even as an adult. She has a breakthrough when she realizes her father’s decisions had nothing to do with her and she is worthy of abundance and love. If you feel you are broken or unlovable in some way, it is important to know most humans in the western world struggle with this. Part of our journey as humans evolving in consciousness is to upgrade the limiting belief that we are not worthy in some way or there is something we have to do to prove our enoughness. It’s easy to fall into the conditioning that we have to do something to be worthy. That we have to do something to be enough and to be loved. It stems from childhood programming and conditioning. There is nothing you need to do to earn worthiness, enoughness, or love. If you have checked off a lot of boxes in your life and have done things you thought would make you feel worthy but you are still not feeling it, it's because nothing outside of you can make you feel worthy or embody worthiness. Feeling worthy is truly an inside job that requires going back and updating some beliefs, healing core issues and re-framing how you look at life experiences. Consider/Ask Yourself: Do you struggle with self-worth? Do you know intellectually you are enough but you just aren’t feeling it? Did you have a significant life event when someone left or someone was critical so you started to believe you did something wrong? DId you personalize it? Do you relate to being a giver? Is it easy for you to show up for people and show compassion for others but have difficulty receiving compassion? Do you live life ‘on guard’? Are you always waiting for the other shoe to drop or thinking in worst-case scenarios? Chrystal’s Question: Chrystal is having trouble loving herself and would like to understand her worth. Chrystal’s Key Insights and Ahas: She has always struggled with knowing her worth. She was depressed and suicidal in her teens. She gets triggered by certain events. Her father left the family when she was a child. She felt loved by her father but she felt like the second option. She always considers the worst-case scenarios. She protects herself from being hurt again. She resigned from her job. She is perpetuating her limiting beliefs. She wants everything to be perfect. She realizes her father made decisions for him, not her. She internalizes other people’s pain. How to Get Over It and On With It: She should stop personalizing the situation. She should read Expectation Hangover and attend the Personal Mastery Course. During triggering events she needs to reassure 5-year-old Chrystal and make her feel worthy. She needs to realize her life lessons are a gift, not a punishment. She needs to remember she is worthy of abundance and love. Watch Don show you exactly how to answer "Tell Me About Yourself." Tell me about yourself is one of the toughest interview questions. This is an open-ended question, but really what the interviewer wants to hear is about your recent work experience and your journey that brought you to this point in your career. Why don't they just ask that question instead? Because they want to see where you will go with an open-ended question. Your answer to "tell me about yourself" tells the interviewer where your mind is. If you start telling him that you are a Cleveland Browns fan, then you are way off base with what he wants to hear and you have just made your first mistake. What do you want the interviewer to know about you when you leave, your work experience or your personal interests? I'm confident their hiring decision will be based on your work experience, save your personal interests for the water cooler after you get the job. Wrong answer to tell me about yourself: 1. "What would you like to know?" This statement completely throws the question back at the interviewer in somewhat of an insulting way and he/she is forced to reword the question. Best answer to tell me about yourself: 1. "What part of my work experience would you like me to talk about?" a. Now the interviewer can reply with a simple straightforward answer. Some interviewers want you to start from your first job and others only want to hear about your most recent job. b. If the interviewer would like you to start from your first job, assuming it has been several years since you had that job, then lightly touch on the jobs that you no longer hold, but expand on your current or most recent job experience and accomplishments. Focus on your answer and talk about your accomplishments from your current or most recent job and lightly touch on your daily duties. These are the things an interviewer really wants to hear. Because if he thinks you were successful at your past job, then you will be successful at this job. Even if you don't feel that you accomplished anything, look deep and think of something you did that helped the company. Or better yet, describe an accomplishment that you contributed to the company, just make sure it's in the same line of work. For example, don't take credit for boosting sales revenue if your job is to fix computers. • Briefly talk about your current employer. • Discuss 2-3 of your most significant accomplishments. • Talk about a few of your key strengths as they relate to the job for which you are applying and how they can benefit from your strengths. • Then discuss how you see yourself fitting into a position at their company. 1. Speak of how you completed projects on time and under budget. 2. Tell them how you increased sales revenues for two straight quarters in a row. 3. Describe of how you came up with a new procedure that saved the company money. 4. "I have been in the customer service industry for several years and most of my experience has been dealing with calls from our customers. Over 25 years he infiltrated different sales organizations to find out how they were able to influence people into buying decisions. He discovered six principles he deemed weapons of influence, how they initiate these automatic responses in people and can allow a salesperson or a marketer to influence them into a buying decision. The first principle is called reciprocity, known as the Gifting Principle. One way that you can use that in your marketing is to identify people that you want to do business with and send them a gift out of the blue. I did this when I was an insurance agent. I had strategic partners I was trying to recruit in order to send referrals to my insurance business. I identified high end mortgage brokers and real estate agents and sent ten of them an Omaha steak package in the mail with a little letter that said, I'd like to talk with you about an idea that I had. Every single one of them called me back and I had a meeting with them. I got to sit down and talk with them about how I do business, about their business, and they all became referral partners and allowed me to grow my insurance agency very quickly. That Principle of Gifting and the reciprocity that comes out of it is very, very powerful. The second principle is commitment and consistency. How this works is if you can get somebody to make a micro commitment-a very small commitment, you can get them to stay consistent with that commitment and make larger commitments along the process of your funnel. An example of this is on your landing pages. What we've been testing out for a lot of our clients is two step opt-in pages, where the first part of the page is actually a quick quiz. You may have seen this where you'll land on a page and it says how did you hear about us? Then there are a few options. The person selects an option, they click next, and then it will have the form where they can put in their e-mail. We've seen huge increases in the conversion on the landing page by simply doing that, and those conversions have held solid all the way through the end goal of the marketing funnel because people are making this little micro commitment of just telling you how they heard about you. Now they're more committed to learning more about what you have to teach them, and then they're committed to buying from you. The third, probably the most well-known, is social proof. Things like testimonials, case studies, what people are saying about you in your marketing, so that it's not just you telling prospects how great you are, it's other people telling them. Once they see that other people are getting results and have a good experience with you, it helps to influence their decision towards potentially working with you. The fourth is the Liking Principle. Now, we've all heard in sales that people will buy from those that they know, like, and trust, and Cialdini proved that to be true. There are little things you can do in your marketing to get people to like you. One is giving away very useful content that helps people. By doing so you'll build up that likeness and it will help you to influence people later on into a buying decision. The fifth is authority which can be affected in your marketing by displaying places that are well known where your work has been featured. That's why you'll see a lot of people have an 'as seen on' banner on their website. It's a great way to develop authority without having to thump your chest and say, hey, look at how great I am! I was on CNN. You just put the logo up there, it says as seen on. That develops your authority and helps you to influence people's decision making as well. The last principle is scarcity. You'll see this a lot in sales letters where they'll say there's a limited quantity or limited time. Scarcity is very, very powerful, but it's also the influence principle that's misused most frequently. If you're going to use scarcity make sure that you're doing it, and you actually mean it. Don't put some fake quantity number on an eBook. People are hip to that and it doesn't work. It actually gets them very angry with you and it will create bad will towards you in the marketplace. Implement these six principles throughout your entire marketing funnel. You'll see large lifts in conversion, sometimes as high as 600-700% in sales, but they all have to work in tandem and tie together.

Based on NASA flight director Gene Kranz' autobiography "Failure is not an Option" this documentary traces the history of NASA Mission Control during the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs, with special emphasis on Apollo 1, 8, 11, 12 and 13. While Kranz' book often comes out as overly jingoistic and with an excess of pathos, this documentary strikes a good balance between depicting the historical background of the space race, the technical issues of spaceflight and the emotional impact on Mission Control personnel. To people very familiar with the events of US manned spaceflight in those years, there is not much new information to be gained from the documentary. There is Conrads difficult Gemini spacewalk, the Apollo 1 fire, Apollo 8 going around the moon, the Apollo 11 moon descent crises (Computer alarm and low fuel), Mission Controller Aarons reset of the Apollo 12 during launch and of course the whole saga of Apollo 13. All is told through the eyes of Mission Control, its directors and controllers, with the astronauts only appearing as fuzzy voices on the radio downlink. The strength of the documentary is that it shows us the faces and voices of the Mission controllers. From the perspective of 2003 they re-tell their stories in a seamless narrative illustrated with mostly original film, but also a little re-enactment, which happily is not too intrusive (even though it does show people watching a Mercury launch in colour on their home TV set..). The contrast between the young faces filmed in the 60's and the present-day aged and haughty demeanor of the same men is a captivating reminder of the passage of time. Working in Mission control was obviously the high point of their lives, so there is a slightly nostalgic note to their account. Some things about the documentary can be criticized. Space buffs will miss technical details, and not much is being said about the system of shifts in Mission Control, that is, how "colourcoded" teams managed the job of mission control 24/7. Also, the focus is very much on the telegenic Gene Kranz, to the detriment of the other mission directors and controllers. This is probably unavoidable when we're dealing with the TV medium, which needs easy-to-follow stories and a captivating protagonist. If one wants a true insight into NASA mission control, one has to read books about it. This documentary will however serve as a primer, and a good one at that. It is emotional to hear the story of NASA's crises and triumphs, re-told 40 years on by the men who were actually there. They might not quite be unsung heroes, since their feats are well-documented, but they certainly deserve to be heard once more by new audiences.

Today’s caller, Caitlyn, is having an expectation hangover about her engagement planning process. She is excited about her wedding but her family and friends don't seem to be. This episode covers a lot of ground and we go really deep in this episode. Being a caretaker can be a survival skill. Survival needs can be the need to feel loved, to feel valued and to feel like we belong. When one of our patterns is tied to those needs, it is really hard to release. Consciously, you may know it’s not healthy for you to be a caretaker and that you should set boundaries but unconsciously, there may be a part of you that wonders who will love you and how will you fit into your family if you stop caretaking others. When your body is working hard to hold all of your suppressed emotions together it needs another outlet for release. Our third chakra, our energy center, is tied to personal empowerment. If you don’t have boundaries and allow other people to suck your energy, things will shift within the body to compensate. You can manifest a physical ailment when keeping emotional issues bottled up or by not feeling empowered. Caitlyn’s Key Insights and Ahas: She wants more support from friends and family about her wedding. She has always been a planner. She feels disappointed and hurt. She was diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis at thirteen. She didn’t want attention growing up. She is manifesting her physical condition. Her sister is also planning a wedding. How to Get Over It and On With It: She needs to not worry about other people’s upset. She needs to say thank you to her illness for sending her the message. She needs to start writing from her heart with release writing. She needs to show herself compassion. She needs to be OK with having attention focused on her. Assignments For You: If you are dealing with any type of expectation hangover, go back in time and ask yourself, “What does this remind me of?” Do the ‘empty chair’ process at home. Let things go through journaling and release writing. Set and stand by your boundaries with people and let them be upset.
