How to setup up SMTP Relay in Exchange Server 2010

06:17
Once your Exchange 2010 environment setup and configured, you may need to allow 3rd party mail systems or other devices to relay mail off of your Exchange Server. Examples of this would be an application server or maybe something like a copier. In this video I'll show you how to setup a receive connecter that will allow anonymous relay through Exchange Server 2010. For more training visit us online at http://interfacett.com

All the SMTP server settings were configured in code. In this session, we will discuss about specifying these settings in web.config file. Since the SMTP server settings are now configured in web.config. In code all you have to do is 1. Create an instance of the MailMessage class. Specify the FROM & TO email address, subject and Body 2. Create an instance of SmtpClient class, and send the email using Send() method. The SMTP settings will be automatically picked up from web.config file, when sending email. SendEmail() method code public static void SendEmail(string emailbody) { // Specify the from and to email address MailMessage mailMessage = new MailMessage ("[email protected]", "[email protected]"); // Specify the email body mailMessage.Body = emailbody; // Specify the email Subject mailMessage.Subject = "Exception"; // No need to specify the SMTP settings as these // are already specified in web.config SmtpClient smtpClient = new SmtpClient(); // Finall send the email message using Send() method smtpClient.Send(mailMessage); }

What is the Difference Between POP and IMAP? | GoDaddy

03:18
Learn the difference between the two most common incoming email protocols: POP and IMAP.For more details visit https://www.godaddy.com/help/setting-up-your-email-address-with-pop-4715?cvosrc=video.youtube_organic.us_how-to&cvo_creative=MlvksPMunQ0isc=ythowto and https://www.godaddy.com/help/setting-up-your-email-address-with-imap-4714?cvosrc=video.youtube_organic.us_how-to&cvo_creative=MlvksPMunQ0isc=ythowto Hi there! In this video, you’ll learn the difference between the two most common incoming email protocols: POP and IMAP. POP, or Post Office Protocol, was created as a simplified way to download and delete messages on a remote email server. The latest version, POP3, is supported by virtually all email clients and servers. Using POP, an internet-connected email client accesses a remote mail server; downloads all email to your local computer; and marks the messages for deletion on the mail server. This means the messages you retrieve using POP can only be viewed in the specific email client, on the specific computer that you downloaded them to. Once downloaded, you cannot access these messages via webmail, or a different email client on another computer. Think of POP like a traditional telephone answering machine that uses tapes. Callers can leave a recorded message on the answering machine, but you can only listen to the message if you are physically in the same room as your answering machine and press play. Until you erase your messages from the tape, they remain available to replay at any time, but only from that answering machine. IMAP, or Internet Message Access Protocol, was specifically designed to free us from the limits of sending and receiving email from a single email client. In contrast to POP, IMAP allows you to log into any internet-connected email client or a webmail site, and view all of the same emails at any time. In a constantly connected world, the ability to send and receive email from both email clients and webmail sites, has made IMAP very popular. With IMAP, your email is stored on your provider’s email servers until you delete it. While this makes email access convenient, some provider’s limit the amount of email you can store on their servers, and may temporarily suspend email services if you exceed this amount. Think of IMAP like your remote digital voicemail. When a caller leaves a message using voicemail, their message is kept on a centralized computer data storage device, and you access the messages using the touch tones on your telephone or mobile. This digital storage in a centralized location means that you can access and listen to voicemails from any telephonic device that can generate touch tones. Your messages remain on your provider’s data storage device until you delete them. However, most providers limit the number of messages you can store, and if you exceed this amount, callers may temporarily not be able to leave you a message. To decide which will work best for you, think about how you like to check your email. If you’re someone who always checks their email from one location, or on only one device, POP will work. However, if you’re someone who checks your email from your laptop, just as frequently as your mobile, and you need to be able to access it no matter where you, then IMAP is a better choice. While POP and IMAP are not the only incoming email server settings, they are the most common. At GoDaddy, the type of incoming email server you have is primarily dependent on the type of email account you have and where you purchased it. So find out which type of incoming email server you’re using – and if it’s not meeting your needs you always have the option to change it.

What is EPHEMERAL PORT? What does EPHEMERAL PORT mean? EPHEMERAL PORT meaning & explanation

What is EPHEMERAL PORT? What does EPHEMERAL PORT mean? EPHEMERAL PORT meaning - EPHEMERAL PORT definition -EPHEMERAL PORT explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ An ephemeral port is a short-lived transport protocol port for Internet Protocol (IP) communications allocated automatically from a predefined range by the IP stack software. An ephemeral port is typically used by the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), User Datagram Protocol (UDP), or the Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) as the port assignment for the client end of a client–server communication to a well-known port on a server. On servers, ephemeral ports may also be used as the port assignment on the server end of a communication. This is done to continue communications with a client that initially connected to one of the server's well-known service listening ports. File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and Remote Procedure Call (RPC) applications are two protocols that can behave in this manner. Note that the term "server" here includes workstations running network services that receive connections initiated from other clients (e.g. Remote Desktop Protocol). The allocations are temporary and only valid for the duration of the communication session. After completion (or timeout) of the communication session, the ports become available for reuse. Since the ports are used on a per request basis they are also called dynamic ports. The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) suggests the range 49152 to 65535 (215+214 to 216-1) for dynamic or private ports. Many Linux kernels use the port range 32768 to 61000. FreeBSD has used the IANA port range since release 4.6. Previous versions, including the Berkeley Software Distribution (BSD), use ports 1024 to 5000 as ephemeral ports. Microsoft Windows operating systems through XP use the range 1025–5000 as ephemeral ports by default. Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Server 2008 use the IANA range by default. Windows Server 2003 uses the range 1025–5000 by default, until Microsoft security update MS08-037 from 2008 is installed, after which it uses the IANA range by default. Windows Server 2008 with Exchange Server 2007 installed has a default port range of 1025–60000. In addition to the default range, all versions of Windows since Windows 2000 have the option of specifying a custom range anywhere within 1025–65535. If certain server software is used, that uses non ephemeral custom port ranges for initiating some further connections, it needs to be ensured by configuration that this custom port range and the ephemeral port range do not overlap.

What is QUERY FLOODING? What does QUERY FLOODING mean? QUERY FLOODING meaning & explanation

What is QUERY FLOODING? What does QUERY FLOODING mean? QUERY FLOODING meaning - QUERY FLOODING definition - QUERY FLOODING explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ Query flooding is a method to search for a resource on a P2P network. It is simple but scales very poorly and thus is rarely used. Early versions of the Gnutella protocol operated by query flooding; newer versions use more efficient search algorithms. A P2P network generally consists of a large number of nodes each connected not to all other nodes, but a small subset of the nodes. If a node wants to find a resource on the network, which may be on a node it does not know about, it could simply broadcast its search query to its immediate neighbours. If the neighbours do not have the resource, it then asks its neighbours to forward the query to their neighbours in turn. This is repeated until the resource is found or all the nodes have been contacted, or perhaps a network-imposed hop limit is reached. Query flooding is simple to implement and is practical for small networks with few requests. It contacts all reachable nodes in the network and so can precisely determine whether a resource can be found in the network (Freenet, for example, only returns a probabilistic result). On the other hand, every request may cause every node to be contacted. Each node might generate a small number of queries; however, each such query floods the network. Thus, a larger network would generate far more traffic per node than a smaller one, making it inherently unscalable. Additionally, because a node can flood the network simply by issuing a request for a nonexistent resource, it could be possible to launch a denial-of-service attack on the network. Version 0.6 of the Gnutella protocol mandates query routing. The query routing specification explains how the ideas of the original research are implemented. Other file sharing networks, such as the Kad network, use distributed hash tables to index files and for keyword searches. BitTorrent creates individual overlay networks for sharing individual files (or archives). Searches are performed by other mechanisms, such as locating torrent files indexed on a web site. A similar mechanism can be use on the Gnutella network with magnet links. For instance Bitzi provides a web interface to search for magnet links. Earlier P2P networks, such as Napster, used a centralized database to locate files. This does not have a scaling problem, but the central server is a single point of failure.

Exchange server 2010 1

00:30
Mailbox servers perform the following functions: Host mailbox databases Provide e-mail storage Host public folder databases Calculate e-mail address policies Generate address lists and offline address books (OABs) Conduct Multi-Mailbox Searches Provide high availability and site resiliency Provide content indexing Provide messaging records management (MRM) and retention policies The Client Access server role is one of five distinct server roles for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. It supports the Outlook Web App and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync client applications, and the Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) and Internet Message Access Protocol version 4rev1 (IMAP4) protocols. The Client Access server role also provides access to free/busy data by using the Availability service and enables certain clients to download automatic configuration settings from the Autodiscover service. The Client Access server role accepts connections to your Exchange 2010 server from different clients. Software clients such as Microsoft Outlook Express and Eudora use POP3 or IMAP4 connections to communicate with the Exchange server. Hardware clients, such as mobile phones, use ActiveSync, POP3, or IMAP4 to communicate with the Exchange server. You must install the Client Access server role in every Exchange organization and every Active Directory site that has the Mailbox server role installed.
