Ballerina Diet: How to Lose Weight In Less Than a Month

10:43
Professional ballerinas are the epitome of grace and beauty. It may seem like it comes naturally for them, but, in fact, the world of classical ballet has a lot of standards and strict rules. They even apply a special formula to calculate a ballerina’s weight, which must not be more than 110 lb! As you can understand, staying fit is essential for any ballerina; therefore, these requirements are a bit too strict for real life. However, the dieting habits of ballerinas can suit even those who are outside the ballet world and give a great result to anyone, who wants to have a flawless body. TIMESTAMPS Dilute your drinks 1:18 Don't blacklist your favorite meals 2:03 Choose meals from Japanese and Chinese cuisines 2:58 There are also rules for drinking water 3:42 Make food portions smaller 4:38 Don't be afraid of carbs 5:35 Don't mix different proteins 6:34 Mayonnaise doesn't exist 7:27 Have fast days once every two weeks 8:25 Think positively 9:16 SUMMARY - Even a simple solution, such as diluting drinks, can help you on your way to the goal weight. Just try to dilute your favorite dairy drinks (for example, milk) with water - add 1 ice cube for 1 glass of your drink. - If you are dying to have a hamburger, it’s better to eat it with a lot of salad than with French fries. Originally typical hamburger contains beef, some pickles, a couple of onions, some cheese and a certain amount of other not-so-harmful ingredients. - Lovers of Japanese or Chinese cuisines can also catch a break – these meals would not harm your figure. That's because such dishes don’t contain extra fats and preservatives as they are cooked with fresh ingredients, such as vegetables, mushrooms, seafood, seaweed, and meat. - Ballerinas don’t drink water while eating or right after a meal. It might dilute stomach acids, prevent normal food digestion and lead to other not-so-pleasant health issues. Instead, nutritionists suggest that it's way better to drink water 30 minutes before and after your meal. - Ballerinas don’t drink water while eating or right after a meal. It might dilute stomach acids, prevent normal food digestion and lead to other not-so-pleasant health issues. Instead, nutritionists suggest that it's way better to drink water 30 minutes before and after your meal. - The truth is that carbs are the main source of energy for your system. They boost up your mood and are very good for your heart. Plus, they make you feel full for longer, so you don't crave all these little unhealthy snacks. - Be sure not to mix proteins from different groups in one meal if you want your digestion to work properly. If you stick to this rule, you will say goodbye to such displeasing issues as bloating, stomach ache and nausea. - Mayonnaise should be excluded from your eating habits. You see, the worst thing about it is that it's quite a high-calorie product, which also digests very slowly. - When ballerinas need to lose weight in a short period, they have "fast" days. Sounds like a quick way to lose weight, yes, but keep in mind that these days shouldn’t occur more than once a week. - You need to think positively to set realistic goals and achieve them. And this concerns staying in shape too. As soon as you start thinking the right way and realize what your main goal is, it’ll be much easier to take care of your body, and you’ll easily keep doing what you started. Which one of these points would you like to try? Maybe you already stick to some of them? Tell us your opinions in the comment section! 5 Most Popular Dances Explained Step by Step

11:35
How about we do some dancing? In case you’re thinking, I’ll pass on that because, well, I can’t really dance, don’t worry! This video guide can change your life once and for all. This step-by-step guide is so simple that it’ll teach even the clumsiest of people to dance like a pro. TIMESTAMPS: The Twist 1:11 The Moonwalk 3:37 Salsa 5:33 Samba 7:59 Guess the dance 10:40 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY: - Stand straight, and keep your knees flexible. Start by moving one foot forward. It should be slightly ahead of your back foot. Hold both of your arms away from your body, and slightly bend your elbows. Imagine you’re jogging, and keep your arms just like that. Keep the upper part of your arms closer to your body and the lower part of your arms diagonally out and upward. While twisting, let your arms move naturally with your hip movements. - The signature move of Michael Jackson himself might seem effortless, but it takes quite a lot of practice. Find a smooth and nonstick surface to practice on. Put on some socks — you’ll need to glide across the floor, and those will help. To keep your balance, place your legs around 3” to 6” apart. - As you can guess from its lively and sensual style, salsa has Cuban and Puerto Rican origins. If there’s 2 of you, one partner is the lead and the second follows. - The trick with samba is to catch its rhythm. There should be 3 steps in 2 beats. The step pattern is the following: 1-and-2, 2-and-2, 3-and-4. The “and” step should be a quick step. As you perform the steps, remember to bounce a bit. Lift your feet as if there’s a pencil on the floor that you mustn’t step on. Your knees should be soft and bouncing, and your torso is straight. Adult Dance Classes Increase Weight Loss & Mental Health The Connection: The reason why people dance tango is to get the feeling of connection. No other dance allows such a close and deep connection. This is why people persist with that goal for a very long time. If it were not for that, people would give up the dance requires a lot of sustained effort to develop that connection. It's human nature - we all want to connect with other humans. The beauty of tango is in the oneness of the union rather than the performance of the individual. In tango nothing is ornate, but everything is exquisite and elegant. To tango is to indulge yourself, not to impress others. On a crowded dance floor who cares about your footwork anyway. The only thing that matters is the feelings you experience. The Music: The reason why people dance tango is to get the feeling of connection. No other dance allows such a close and deep connection. Why "Dance for PD"

03:49
Dance for PD® is a unique collaboration between the Mark Morris Dance Group and the Brooklyn Parkinson Group, a chapter of the National Parkinson Foundation (USA). One driving force behind Dance for PD® is the power of dance to concentrate mind, body and emotion on movement. This integrated focus of the whole person on movement is useful to persons with Parkinsons Disease. Equally important is the inherent ability of dance to positively affect mood. In the class, persons with PD and their caregivers learn from professionally trained dancers. Dancers are movement experts who know all about stretching and strengthening muscles, about balance and rhythm. Most importantly, persons with PD learn how dancers use thought, imagination, eyes, ears and touch to control movement. Dance for PD classes combine elements of modern dance, ballet, tap, jazz, social dancing, and Mark Morris company repertoire. While dancing, whether in chairs, at a barre, or standing, class participants explore dance movements in a welcoming environment in which live music energizes, enriches and empowers. The method has been presented at the International Congress for Parkinsons Disease and Related Disorders in Berlin (2005), the World Parkinson Congress in Washington, D.C. (2006) and at Neuroscience 2008 in Washington D.C. Articles about the class have appeared in USA Today, Neurology Now, The New York Times, and Topics in Geriatric Rehabilitation among other publications. In addition to hosting a weekly class at the Mark Morris Dance Center in Brooklyn, the Mark Morris Dance Group has offered Dance for PD® to communities in San Francisco, Oakland, Seattle, Urbana-Champaign, Toronto, London and Edinburgh. In 2007 and 2008 MMDG/BPG sponsored training workshops which have led to replication of Dance for PD® classes throughout the United States and in Toronto, Canada. 45 guests attended the teacher training weekend (March 28-29). In response to requests from both dancers and PD organizations, plans for future Dance for PD® training workshops are currently underway. Contemporary Act by "Dakini Dance-Olga Merekina" @ RGC Art One Nation Gala Event, 23rd October 2016

05:01
Olga Merekina is a Russian artist, choreographer, and educator, based in China. Although her body experience includes different forms and practices, such as classical ballet, modern dance, flamenco, and capoeira, her recent performing artworks as well as teaching approach are focused on contemporary dance, physical theater, and improvisation. Body is not only a medium of Olga’s artistic expression but also a main area of her academic research interest. Dakini dance studio is founded by Olga Merekina in 2013 in Shanghai, China. The studio provides contemporary dance training and improvisation classes, as well as choreographs performances. Through dance we make an attempt not only to educate our bodies but also to educate our mind, learn how to communicate, and express yourself. ABOUT THE ACT Walking Through Desert ‘Walking Through Desert’ is not merely a recall of personal experience of surviving in human unfriendly environment. The performance is an attempt to recognize and even embody a journey of human civilizations through time and space, struggling to leave any trace of existence. For centuries, Taklamakan desert was the most hazardous part of the Silk road, an ancient route of commercial and cultural exchange between East and West. Being able to travel just from one oasis to another, caravans may have spent weeks and months waiting for favorable weather. However, there was always a risk to get buried before reaching a destination. Nevertheless, being brutal with human beings, the desert became a careful guardian of cultural artifacts. Carefully preserving books, artworks, and articles of everyday utility from decay, Taklamakan desert enables those cultures vanished from the historical memory to send a message through the centuries. Human history as collective memory of survivors is imperfect. And we may never know if the remembered one is only worth retaining.

Capoeira in Japan This work ."Familia Z" - "Z Family" was created, researched and developed by Renato Leão and Sergio Luiz in 1998 Currently it is part of Fato Dance Company's repertoire. A contemporaneous dance which depicts the problems faced by youngsters who live on the streets, from the moment they wake up to the time they go to time. It aims to alert society in general about the problems which youngsters face when they live on the streets. Its research sources are newspaper articles, interviews, news services and open-field research. The researchers were able to compose the characters and develop scenes related to themes such as: THE DAWN, THE HUNGER, IN SEARCH OF SMALL COINS, THE BEST FRIEND - THE DRUGS DEALER, THE POLICE RAID, THE REBELLION AND THE COLD. Impossible to categorise, he composed around 100 works, which include film scores, ballets, melodies and above all piano works. A friend of Debussy, Ravel, Cocteau,Picasso and Diaghalev, he was at the core of the avant garde in Paris, and yet he remained an outsider – deliberately so. Happy playing piano in jazz bars – where he and Debussy met each other, Satie was the antithesis of the late 19th century and early 20th musical world as dominated by Wagner and his adherents. The master of Bayreuth had proclaimed himself the prophet of ‘music of the future’and his vast opulently scored music dramas cast their spell over the Second Viennese school, and also Debussy, whose opera Pelléas et Melisande has a good deal of Parsifal and Tristan in its score. With Satie, it was the music of the past that was important, and he even returned to the tones of the ancient Greeks. Gymnopédies evokes the dance of children from ancient Sparta, who danced in honour of Apollo. Similarly, Gnossiennes is from the labyrinth at Knossos (Gnossos). It wasn’t all ancient Greek influences though that guided Satie’s inspiration – jazz and the music hall were potent influences Perhaps the most idiosyncratic work he composed is Vexations. He composed it in 1893, but refused to show the score to anyone, and the premiere took place in 1963 at the instigation of John Cage. The score occupies a single page, headed ‘Page Mystique. To play this motif 840 times in succession, it will be necessary to prepare oneself in advance, in total silence, by remaining absolutely motionless.’ A complete performance thus takes 18–30 hours. Cristina Ariagno plays an excerpt. Tracklist can be found below!

Janet Eilber of the Martha Graham Dance Center of Contemporary Dance discusses Isamu Noguchi's set for the Martha Graham work "Cave of the Heart," set to music by Samuel Barber. The presentation is part of the "Martha Graham at the Library" Festival and presented in association with the Isamu Noguchi Museum. Speaker Biography: Janet Eilber has been the artistic director of the Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance since 2005. Her direction has focused on creating new forms of audience access to the Graham masterworks. These initiatives include designing contextual programming, educational and community partnerships, use of new media, commissions and creative events such as the "Lamentation Variations" and "Prelude and Revolt." She has also remixed Graham choreography and created new staging in the Graham style for theater/dance productions of "The Bacchae" and "Prometheus Bound." Earlier in her career, as a principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, Eilber worked closely with Martha Graham. She danced many of Graham's greatest roles, had roles created for her by Graham, and was directed by Graham in most of the major roles of the repertoire. She soloed at the White House, was partnered by Rudolf Nureyev, starred in three segments of Dance in America, and has since taught, lectured and directed Graham ballets internationally. With that in mind, these BBC employees took it upon themselves to jazz up their day with a merry jig round the Christmas tree in the middle of their multi-million pound newsroom. But staff were left red-faced when the camera panning through the revamped newsroom prior to the headlines showed them linking arms and bouncing round the tree in Christmas hats. It also appears to show a member of staff dressed in a bear costume awkwardly watching the scene in the corner of the shot. The dance left presenter Julian Worricker looking rather bashful as he began his festive news bulletin. +4 As the camera pans to the news studio, it shows a group of BBC staff linking hands and jumping round the tree +4 The staff, dressed in Christmas hats, rock round the Christmas tree watched on by an employee in a bear suit While some staff stayed at their desks, a group of BBC employees started rocking around the Christmas tree +4 While some staff stayed at their desks, a group of BBC employees started rocking around the Christmas tree The camera then panned to news presenter Julian Worricker, who looked slightly embarrassed +4 The camera then panned to news presenter Julian Worricker, who looked slightly embarrassed BBC journalists dance around newsroom Christmas tree When the BBC first moved in to their 'fish bowl' 24-hour news studio, it attracted complaints from viewers who spotted staff scoffing chips, chomping bananas, chatting and even picking their noses in the background of news broadcasts. Morris dancing Simon and Garfunkel Scarborough Fair Folk

English Morris dancing in Brighton England performed by cuckoos nest ladies morris Morris dance Cotswold morris with handkerchiefsA morris dance is a form of English folk dance usually accompanied by music. It is based on rhythmic stepping and the execution of choreographed figures by a group of dancers. Implements such as sticks, swords, and handkerchiefs may also be wielded by the dancers. In a small number of dances for one or two men, steps are performed near and across a pair of clay tobacco pipes laid across each other on the floor. There are claimed to be English records mentioning the morris dance dating back to 1448, but these are open to dispute. There is no mention of "morris" dancing earlier than the late 15th century, although early records such as Bishops' "Visitation Articles" mention sword dancing, guising and other dancing activities as well as mumming plays. Furthermore, the earliest records invariably mention "Morys" in a court setting, and both men and women are mentioned as dancing, and a little later in the Lord Mayors' Processions in London. It is only later that it begins to be mentioned as something performed in the parishes. There is certainly no evidence whatsoever that it is in any way a pre-Christian ritual, as is often claimed. While there is still some dispute the origin of the term "morris", the most widely accepted theory is that the term was "moorish dance," "morisques" (in France), "moriskentanz" (in Germany), "moreška" (in Croatia), and "moresco" or "morisca" (in Italy and Spain), which eventually became "morris dance". Dances with similar names and some similar features are mentioned in Renaissance documents in France, Italy, Germany, Croatia, and Spain, throughout, in fact Catholic Europe. This is hardly surprising; by 1492 Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabella of Castille succeeded in driving the Moors out of Spain and unifying the country. In celebration of this a pageant known as a "Moresca" was devised and performed. This can still be seen performed in places such as Ainsa, Aragon. Incorporated into this pageant was the local dance - the Paloteao. This too can still be seen performed in the villages of Aragon. The similarity to what became known as the English "morris" is undoubted. Early court records state that the "Moresque" was performed at court in her honour, including the dance - the "moresque" or "morisce" or "morys" dance. In the modern day, it is commonly thought of as a uniquely English activity, although there are around 150 morris sides (or teams) in the United States. British expatriates form a larger part of the morris tradition in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Hong Kong, and there are isolated groups in other countries, for example that in Utrecht, Netherlands, and Alsace, France.
