To create a select box we simply use the html5 document to create our markup for the select box. We will create three different select boxes using the "select" element and the "option" element for creating dropdown lists. To hide the default styling from the select element applied by the browser we will use the css3 appearance property and set its value to none. And then, we will use an another useful rule to hide the default arrows applied by Internet explorer 10; from the select box dropdown. THREE DIFFERENT METHODS THAT WE WILL BE USING Each select box will be using a different method for styling the dropdown arrow inside the combobox. - The first Method will show using an Image Background technique to create custom arrow for the CSS select box. - The second method will use the CSS border property to create a triangular shape that will be used to customize your select element's dropdown arrow. - Finally, the third method will use the fontawesome glyphicon to create our custom arrow for the selectbox dropdown. All, the method will have the cross-browser support for our custom css3 select box. Each method ensures that it works properly in the Internet explorer 10 or above and other older browser. ClickFunnels: How to Customize Borders Around Any Element (Using Custom CSS)

11:15
If you need help with a specific issue and want me to personally take a look at your setup, I can help! Check out the 'My Services' section of my blog: https://amarketingessentials.com/my-services/ What an element border looks like: 0:30 Why you need to adjust borders using custom CSS: 2:00 Adding borders in custom CSS: 2:27 Welcome back everyone! In this video, I wanted to show you how you could add borders to any element within ClickFunnels, not just the sections or rows, and then also customize them! Something different that you can use with your affiliate marketing campaigns. Reason why we are using CSS is because you are actually unable to input any borders around individual elements within the ClickFunnels basic menu, and even if you do, you have extremelyyyy limited customization options - only a few border styles, limited pixel width, but any color (at least you have that!). You can also only customize ALL 4 borders, NOT individual borders, which is a really cool customization feature in case you are interested! So, in order for us to insert the border in the first place, we need to first select the element we want a border around, copy the custom CSS element ID, and then paste it into our custom CSS window. We then do the regular CSS tradition, putting our braces right after the element ID, and at the end. In between, we have 4 options we can work on: - border style (such as dotted, dashed, solid, double, groove, ridge, inset, outset, hidden - I recommend you try them all out!!) - border width (the width of the actual border, ranging from 1px onwards) - border color (any color in the rbg spectrum) - border radius (if you want to round your corners, this is the way to do it) We would proceed by adding our values for each of those properties, in the form of 'border-style: solid;' for example if we want to create a solid border. The cool thing about this is that we can customize the way each border side looks by adding additional values right after each other after the properties. The borders go from (top, right, bottom, left), so if I want to create solid bottom and left borders, and dashed top and right, I would say 'border-style: dashed dashed solid solid;' The same concept applies to our other declarations, such as color, width, and radius (radius starting from top left and going clockwise until bottom left). And this is basically how we would adjust every part of our border to our desired level using custom CSS in ClickFunnels! You may have excess margins when creating this border however, since the element itself may be fairly large compared to the actual picture, so make sure to check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzwSpbytHqE&list=PLS46f4aLJ2hNASorSJ04itRrhsnZ00x5u&index=18 to see how you can adjust the margins! That's it! Please subscribe and stay tuned for future videos where go over the technical how-to's and/or dig deeper into other affiliate marketing tools! In this tutorial I show you how to style the contact form submit button, various input fields, text area fields, URL fields, telephone fields, number fields and dropdown selection fields. I have created a blog post will sample CSS and sample CSS selectors that you can copy and paste. Here's the link: https://wplearninglab.com/contact-form-7-css-style-almost-anything/ I'll also paste the styles below: /* Submit Button CSS Styles */ .wpcf7 input[type=submit] { padding:15px 45px; background:#FF0000; color:#fff; font-size:30px; font-weight:bold; border:0 none; cursor:pointer; -webkit-border-radius: 5px; border-radius: 5px; } /* Label Text Styles */ .wpcf7 label { padding: 0 0 10px 0; font-size: 20px; } /* Text Input Field Styles */ .wpcf7 input[type=text], .wpcf7 input[type=email], .wpcf7 input[type=url], .wpcf7 input[type=tel], .wpcf7 input[type=number], .wpcf7 .wpcf7-select{ font-size:30px; border: 1px solid red; } /* Textarea Field Styles */ .wpcf7 textarea { width: 100%; color: red; font-size: 20px; border-color:red; } /* Overall form styles */ .wpcf7 { background-color:gray; } Remember that these styles need to go into your CSS stylesheet or if you are putting them right into the header of your site they need to be between style tags. If you are lucky enough to have a theme that allows custom CSS, you can copy and paste them into there. If you're not sure where to find a place where you can enter CSS, this tutorial may help you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLSUWT9MNlA CSS is a very forgiving language, so if you make a change that makes something look really bad just undo your change, save and everything is back to normal. CSS Tutorial — Selectors, Element, Class and ID (3/13)

06:35
CSS Tutorial — Selectors, Element, Class and ID (3/13) So we just looked at a basic CSS statement and it starts with a selector. So what the hell are selectors, again? Say you are brangelina, and you have a bunch of kids, you wanna dress them for school except only one of them is old enough for school. So first you have to pick the right kid, then dress/style them. That’s what selectors are. Choose which kid you wanna prepare for school. Or since you’re not brangelina, Choose which element you wanna style. It all starts with the selector. There are different kinds of selectors. In our example, we used what’s called an element selector because it targets your styles based on the element type, That’s the most basic selector there is. By using the element type. Like a p tag. Cool? Cool. The problem with element selectors is that you might not want to turn ALL your paragraphs blue. What if you had 3 paragraphs and you only want one of them to be blue? The element type is an identifier but in this case it’s too general. I wanna show you an example. Look at this thing on atom’s website. See these two sections? One of them has a white background, the other one is beige. If you inspect it you’ll see they’re both divs, here they are, so clearly the dudes who made this couldn’t have said oh select all divs and change the background to white or beige. They needed to be more specific. You can select elements based on other kinds of identifiers. Classes and ID. Class is the most common and useful one, in fact that’s exactly what Atom is using. Take a look. They have wrapper class on one, and highlight on the other. If you click on highlight, you’ll see that class has a beige background on it. So let’s do one ourselves. Let’s say you have 4 paragraphs and you want to alternate between dark and light. So dark, light, dark, light. In other words you wanna reuse a style for multiple elements. In this case you can use a CLASS selector. The way you write these in CSS is you write the name of your class, this could be whatever you want, just can’t have spaces and some special characters, say DARK, and you put a DOT in front of it. Why a DOT? Well, I dunno what to tell you. There’s no good explanation why, that at least I know about. It’s just syntax that you have to remember. This tells the browser hey this is a CLASS selector. Then of course you have to add the class to your element in HTML. This means “hey select all the elements that have a class attribute and the value is dark. Let’s try it: DEMO 4 - I’m gonna cover ID selectors too just for the sake of it although we don’t use them much. ID attributes are specific to one element only. If you have a style that you want to apply to only one element, for some reason, you can add an ID to that element (for example: my-blue-paragraph), then use an ID selector in CSS to style it. ID selectors are just like CLASS selectors, except you put a # in front of the name instead of the DOT. That becomes the CSS selector for the element with that ID. So let’s try it. DEMO 3 - The problem with ID is that it’s limited to only 1 element. Remember IDs can’t be shared between elements. So you can’t reuse my-blue-paragraph ID for multiple elements. So those are the 3 basic selectors. Element, Class and ID. “Element” to style the elements of that type. ID to target only one specific element. And Class to reuse for multiple elements. We’ll be using all of them from now on. Selectors can get much much more complicated and they will, but now you know the basics. So next, we’re gonna look at some of our options when it comes to style properties, like color, so far that’s all we’ve used so I’m gonna talk about it in detail. Later, fonts, sizes, background, border, animations, display types, flexbox, where’d everyone go? I was talking.

HTML is the standard markup language for creating Web pages. HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language HTML describes the structure of Web pages using markup HTML elements are the building blocks of HTML pages HTML elements are represented by tags HTML tags label pieces of content such as heading, paragraph, and so on. What is CSS? CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets CSS describes how HTML elements are to be displayed on screen, paper, or in other media CSS saves a lot of work. It can control the layout of multiple web pages all at once External stylesheets are stored in CSS files Browsers do not display the HTML tags, but use them to render the content of the page. What is Javascript? JavaScript is a programming language that allows you to implement complex things on web pages. Every time a web page does more than just sit there and display static information for you to look at , Right from displaying timely content updates, or interactive maps, or animated 2D/3D graphics, or scrolling video jukeboxes, etc. You can bet that JavaScript is probably involved. How to Create CSS Dropdown List

01:25
In this tutorial we will learn to create CSS drop down menu. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ Follow this easy step by step easy tutorial to learn how to create CSS Dropdown list and see some of the formatting techniques of the menu items. Drop Down menus are used in almost every web page nowadays. They actually bind the data values to the menu items, hence the user just interact with the Sub items, not bothering about the data value. Step 1 - Main Category First of all, let's open up the 'html' and 'body' tag. After that open up the 'label' tag and give the list a name. Then declare a class for our menu. Let's name the class "Animal" for now, since we will be creating a list of animals. The code would be: 'html' 'body' 'label' Select Any Animal '/label' 'select class ="Animal"' Step 2 - Code for Sub Categories Now open up the 'option value' tag, give the required options after the "value" attribute and specify its class as "options", since we want to create a drop down menu. After that, we will specify the name of the value which has to appear in the list on the browser. Lastly, do remember to close the tags. The code for the sub categories would be: 'option value="lion" class="options"'Lion'/option' 'option value="tiger" class="options"'Tiger'/option' 'option value="Leopard" class="options"'leopard'/option' Step 3 - Preview In browser Further, save the file as .html extension and open it up in a browser. The menu would appear as the way we coded it. Step 4 - Applying CSS Now let us apply some styles on our CSS drop down menu. For that, we will add a style tag before the body tag. Now, let's apply formatting on the options that will appear in the list. For that, we will define the functionality in the members' class. Here, the member class is options, so let's change the font size and color. After that, let's close the style tag and open up the browser. Step 5 - CSS effects After that, refresh the page which was opened in browser previously. It would be observed that the size and color of the CSS dropdown list has just appeared as we coded it. And that is all about CSS dropdown list.

How to Add a Border to a Widget in Thesis with our Thesis Widget Styles Plugin

03:49
http://www.thesistoolbox.com Let's begin by opening the Thesis Widget Styles plugin and going to the style's customization options. Select Customize the Widget Border. We'll add a border to the widget to enhance its appearance (video 1 has introductory instructions on using this plugin). Hit save to make this change. Go back to the widget style and then to Overall Border Style and you can see we have a choice here. One of our choices is to allow each side of the border to be different. If we check this, settings will appear for each of the top, bottom, left and right borders. For now leave this unchecked so we'll get a border that is the same on all sides. Add First Border to a Thesis Widget Let's add a border width of 2 and pick a sort of a darker yellow grey color to compliment the yellow we already have. Then we pick the style of the border which in this case will be solid and then hit the save button. Let's go to the page with the widget and refresh it. You can now see the solid border around the widget which makes it stand out. Add Second Border to a Thesis Widget However, an outset border might actually be kind of interesting around the widget as well. To see that let's return to the Overall Border Style and choose outset instead of solid. This change will make the bottom and right side darker with the top and left side lighter. Hit save. Go back to our page and refresh it. You can see that this got to be a darker color and this stayed the same color or lightened up a little bit. Well, it looks a little cleaner if you use straight edges and if you don't have corners. So let's turn off around the rounded corner to see what that looks like. Go back to the style and turn them off and hit save. Return to the page and refresh it. Now you can see the offset look. This look is pretty dramatic. If you like this idea but want to downplay it some, you can do that by selecting the option of Allow each side of the border to be different. Do that, then copy your Typical Border Color and hit save. Add a Border to the Widget with Different Borders on Each Side Now in the border style you can customize each side of the border. For the top border, let's paste that color in but make it quite a bit lighter with the color picker. Then choose 2 pixels for width and solid. Let's add those same settings to the left border the same. The right and the bottom borders we'll make slightly darker keeping the width at 2 pixels and solid. Paste in that color again and then hit save. Let's go back to our page and refresh it. We have very easily, with our Thesis Widget Styles plugin, customized the widget border. We've got a fairly subtle but nevertheless apparent border around the widget with a sense of depth that emerges out of having these different colors.

Style Widgets Using CSS3 Gradients and Background Images with the Thesis Widget Styles Plugin

09:36
http://www.thesistoolbox.com Let's look at styling the widget area now where we'll style the heading and the body separately. Begin at the widget style's customization options (video 1 has introductory instructions on using this plugin) in the Thesis Widget Styles plugin. Leave the widget background alone but we'll customize the heading font and heading background. And for this example we'll use a background gradient. The heading padding and border will be customized along with the widget body padding and widget body margin so we can separate the text from the header. We'll use a background image to customize the body background. Style Heading Font and Gradient Background In the Thesis Widget Styles Plugin, go to the heading font style. Change the heading font to 24 pixels and pick Molengo one of the Google fonts. Select normal spacing, get rid of all caps and center the heading text. For the background gradient go to colorzilla.com and use the Gradient Editor to configure the gradient code. We have one set up here. It's actually quite simple. I picked a dark red color as the base and then a lighter version of that for the edges. And all I did was just move up directly above the other color to pick a lighter version of that same color and then I created these two stops. You can create a stop simply by pressing a button. I created these two stops, made the two edges lighter and then went to dark. And what I'm aiming for is a very slight variegation of color from light to dark. I have this whole group of text that I have to copy. Then I'll come back over here and paste that gradient text right there. In the padding we'll give ourselves 10 pixels all the way around. Select the save button in the Thesis Widget Styles plugin. Remember, this is style 2 we are working on. Go to our widgets here and we are working in widget block 2. I'll take column 2 here and select style 2 to apply to it. Save it. Come back over and refresh this. Review Changes to Heading Font and Gradient Background Now we have our variegated red that goes from light to dark in here in a way that gives it a sense of depth. I don't love that text so we'll go back to the heading font style and change it to Droid Serif which I like better. So now we've got a heading that's cool looking. Style Widget Body with a Background Image Next we'll style the body with a background image. A few weeks ago, I introduced you to the Subtle Patterns site which has many very subtle patterns that you can download for free. In fact, Thesistoolbox.com uses one of their patterns for the body background. I like this fabric pattern here. I've already downloaded it but you can just hit download and then upload it to your Media Library or even better into your custom folder. For the time being it's been uploaded to my Media Library. I'll go to the library, select edit and copy the URL. Then go back to the Thesis Widget Styles plugin to our style and then to the Body Background Image. Paste that image URL. We want to repeat it in both the x and the y directions. It doesn't really matter where it starts since it's starting in the x and y direction. Go to Body Padding and put in 20 pixels around this. And then add 10 pixels on top for our Body Margins and hit save. Review Changes to Widget Background Image Go back to the page and refresh it. Now we have this paper background, 20 pixels of padding all the way around the text, 10 pixels of margin in between the two. Next we'll add a border around this paper. Return to the Thesis Widget Styles plugin to our style customization options, select customize body border and hit save. Then go to our border style and make it 1 pixel with a solid light grey color. Go back to the page and refresh it. The border gives it a bit of definition because the variegation of the paper no longer continues to the perimeter but stops right there. We could also give it a very slight drop shadow to give it a little bit of depth. Return to the Thesis Widget Styles plugin to our style and give it 2 and 2 and make it slightly darker. Hit save, refresh it. Now we've come up with a very attractive widget style that can be used over and over again. The widget stands out nicely. It's easy to read and it doesn't look like a default Thesis widget.
