Stephen Hawking’s 7 Predictions of Earth’s Demise in the Next 200 Years

11:01
What will happen to our planet in the next 200 years? The most famous scientist since Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, who has made profound and inspiring discoveries, predicted an extremely dark and pessimistic future to the Earth and its inhabitants. Here are some of Hawking’s most terrifying predictions on how and when our world will meet its demise. Since scientists started toying with genetically engineered viruses to treat human illnesses, they’ve also discovered other possible uses for them. Nowadays, pharmacists are even combining several deadly viruses into a single shot and doing some weird stuff with DNA mixing. Hawking was a firm believer in extraterrestrial life, and he was convinced that they will eventually invade our planet. And no, unfortunately, they probably won’t come in peace. In his final work, A Smooth Exit from Eternal Inflation, completed just two weeks before he died, Hawking predicted that our universe will eventually fade into darkness as all the stars run out of energy. Although Hawking's life basically depended on artificial intelligence, he didn't trust it at all. He once said that it might just be “the worst invention in the history of our civilization” because it’ll probably replace humans altogether. Hawking added that global warming will make the conditions on Earth similar to those on Venus. To save ourselves from problems like overpopulation (and the scarcity of resources that comes with it), pandemics, and pollution, we have to discover new worlds and become a multi-planetary species. Music: Diamond Ortiz - Crock Pot Gonna Onyekwe - Destination Unknown Doug Maxwell/Media Right Productions - Hipsters Hopping Doug Maxwell - Light Years Away William Rosati - Rounds Francis Preve- Stranger Danger https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Genetically modified vaccines will backfire on us. 1:04 Aliens will invade our planet. 2:36 The Universe will come to an end. 3:52 Robots will replace humans. 4:21 Nuclear weapons will destroy humanity. 5:32 We'll need to find another planet to live on. 6:03 The Earth will combust into a ball of fire. 9:17 SUMMARY -We still don't fully understand the long-term damage genetically engineered vaccine concoctions might have. -Chances are that cosmic beings will find our floating rock in space and they’ll most likely want to either destroy us or study us like lab rats. -Hawking predicted that our universe will eventually fade into darkness as all the stars run out of energy. -The scientist believed that artificial intelligence could eventually outsmart and outperform humans or, worse, decide to get rid of us. -The development of militarized technology and weapons of mass destruction could lead us to disastrous consequences, which would mean the end of our world. -According to Hawking, we have to find another planet to live on within the next 100 years. Otherwise, we’ll die out as a species because Earth has already reached “the point of no return”. -Global warming will make the conditions on Earth similar to those on Venus. The average temperature will be about 480°F. Our planet will burst into flames in less than 600 years. The Truth About the Titanic Has Been Revealed

11:03
Recent findings reveal the truth that has been buried for over one hundred years. Scientists have debunked the theory that the cause of the Titanic sinking was an iceberg. Why did Titanic sink? What's the real cause of the Titanic crash? HOW TITANIC SANK On April 14th, 1912 at 11:40 p.m. RMS Titanic had a terrible accident that led to its ultimate demise 3 hours later. By 2:20 a.m. in the early morning of April 15th, the biggest ship of its time had completely disappeared under the ice-cold surface of the Atlantic Ocean. The Titanic took more than 1,500 lives with it as it sank to its watery grave. TITANIC MYSTERY The cause of this horrible disaster leading to so many deaths was an iceberg the ship crashed into. Or so we’ve always been told... But scientists’ most recent findings have debunked this theory. In this video, we’ll tell you the whole truth that has been buried for over one hundred years. TIMESTAMPS How Titanic sank 0:08 How Titanic was made 1:00 The real cause of the catastrophe 3:04 The interior of the Titanic 5:10 Another tragic coincidence 6:20 Another criminal negligence: the lifeboats 7:23 Some people also blame Captain Smith 8:25 HOW TITANIC WAS MADE The Titanic had 4 massive smokestacks. Each of them weighed 60 tons, and they extended 81.5 feet above the deck. Such an impressive height was necessary to avoid covering the passengers in 100 tons of soot blown off daily. The smokestacks were placed at a 30° angle to look even more astonishing and imposing. No less awe-inspiring was the cost of the ship. Its construction demanded $7,500,000. If we take into account modern exchange rates and inflation, in 2016 they would be paying $166,000,000. Surprisingly, it would turn out cheaper than the production of the world-famous movie Titanic in 1997, which cost $200,000,000! Criminal negligence, tragic and unfortunate chain of coincidences, fire or ice: whatever it was, it took the lives of hundreds of people and still keeps the minds of scientists busy to this day. English Grammar: A vs THE articles | 1 vs best 1

04:42
Website: http://www.virtuallynative.com/blog/the-a Books: http://www.virtuallynative.com/books Courses: http://www.virtuallynative.com/courses A = 1 In English, as well as many other European languages, we need a number. Fluent speakers of English are obsessed with counting, we always need to say How many: I have 1 car. There are 2 girls waiting for you. He was 3 minutes late. but instead of: 1 we usually say A Instead of 2 we say “a couple of” Instead of 3-4-5 we can say “a few” I have a car. There are a couple of girls waiting for you. He was a few minutes late. The important thing is: we need a number, make sure you answer the “How Many” question, always count but say A instead of 1: We waited for (how many: 1 hour) an hour. I waited for an hour. There is (how many: 1 park, a park) There is a park in my neighborhood. I have (how many: 1 sister) I have a sister. Could you give me (how many: 1 cup) a cup of tea? I saw (how many: 1 movie) a movie yesterday. I waited for (how many: 2 hours) a couple of hours. There are (how many: 3 parks) a few parks in my city. THE also means 1 but the best 1 THE = the best 1 The superlative form of an adjective is preceded by THE: the best, the best teacher the biggest, LA is the biggest city in California the nearest, where is the nearest pharmacy? the most expensive, the most expensive car in the world the least expensive, the least expensive food on the menu why THE, because it is only one in the world A = 1 THE = the best 1

POLITICAL THEORY - Karl Marx

09:28
Karl Marx remains deeply important today not as the man who told us what to replace capitalism with, but as someone who brilliantly pointed out certain of its problems. The School of Life, a pro-Capitalist institution, takes a look. For gifts and more from The School of Life, visit our online shop: https://goo.gl/O1tWri Download our App: https://goo.gl/kj9Vvr FURTHER READING “Most people agree that we need to improve our economic system somehow. It threatens our planet through excessive consumption, distracts us with irrelevant advertising, leaves people hungry and without healthcare, and fuels unnecessary wars. Yet we’re also often keen to dismiss the ideas of its most famous and ambitious critic, Karl Marx. This isn’t very surprising. In practice, his political and economic ideas have been used to design disastrously planned economies and nasty dictatorships. Frankly, the remedies Marx proposed for the ills of the world now sound a bit demented. He thought we should abolish private property. People should not be allowed to own things. At certain moments one can sympathise. But it’s like wanting to ban gossip or forbid watching television. It’s going to war with human behaviour. And Marx believed the world would be put to rights by a dictatorship of the proletariat; which does not mean anything much today. Openly Marxist parties received a total of only 1,685 votes in the 2010 UK general election, out of the nearly 40 million ballots cast…” You can read more on this and many other topics on our blog TheBookofLife.org at this link: https://goo.gl/Rt3zri MORE SCHOOL OF LIFE Our website has classes, articles and products to help you think and grow: https://goo.gl/93tGtZ Watch more films on POLITICAL THEORY in our playlist: http://bit.ly/2dma0Sn Do you speak a different language to English? A New Bermuda Triangle Theory Explains Its Mystery

12:25
The Bermuda Triangle is one of the biggest mysteries in the world. This region, shaped in the form of a triangle, is situated in the North Atlantic Ocean between Miami, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda. More than 150 planes, cargo ships, and smaller vessels have met their demise in this cursed area. Even with modern technology and communication systems, vessels still keep vanishing. The latest discovery may shed a different light on the eternal enigma. #bermudatriangle #brightside TIMESTAMPS: The most recent accident 1:45 The methane gas theory 5:12 Wormholes theory 5:44 Waterspouts theory 6:06 A hole in the electromagnetic forces of the planet 6:27 The human error theory 6:47 The alien theory 7:11 Enormous rogue waves 7:49 Holes in the sea 10:05 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY: - The most recent accident was also the most disastrous for the last 30 years, and it happened on October 1, 2015. That day, the huge cargo ship SS El Faro went missing in the area of the Bermuda Triangle. The search continued for weeks, and SS El Faro was finally spotted. It was positioned upright and in one piece at a depth of 15,000 ft in the Atlantic. The search party found no trace of the crew. - Some researchers believe that ships and planes crash and disappear in the area due to methane gas. And it has indeed been proved that there are massive stores of this gas in some areas of the ocean floor. Therefore, when gas is released into the water, the process can sink ships and make planes crash. - The wormholes theory is preferred by those who love sci-fi. In short, a wormhole is a space-time shortcut. While the existence of wormholes hasn't been proven yet, this doesn't stop some people from believing that this phenomenon is what causes vanishings in the Bermuda Triangle. - Waterspouts (more simply, tornados at sea) are said to have been spotted in the Bermuda Triangle. This weather phenomenon sucks water many feet up into the air. Potentially, this can make a ship disappear with eerie ease. - Compasses are reported to malfunction in the Bermuda Triangle. This place is one of the few on Earth where compasses have problems pointing north. This can lead to sailors and pilots going off their course. - The human error theory sounds rather disappointing for those who love mysteries! However, some people are sure that all the crashes and disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle happen due to people's mistakes. There are too many confusing islands that are hard to distinguish from one another as well as the difficult weather condition. - No mystery can exist without an explanation of alien interference. It's just too convenient to blame disappearances on extraterrestrial forces. Though why aliens would choose exactly this area for their abductions remains unknown. - The most recent findings of scientists allow them to claim that the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle has finally been solved. The culprits are huge sea monsters! But when we say “monsters,” we do not mean living creatures. They are enormous rogue waves that were believed to be a myth. Rogue waves are terrifying and anomalous. They are massive walls of water that move across the ocean. Rogue waves can have a force of 9 metric tons per square foot. To compare, the average 40-ft-high wave has a force of only 0.5 metric tons per square foot. English Grammar: A v THE articles | any 1 vs 1 particular

06:34
Website: http://www.virtuallynative.com/blog/a-the A and THE is one of the most difficult aspects of English grammar and especially for language learners from Asia and Eastern Europe A is called the “indefinite article” THE is called the “definite article” Most West European languages make a distinction between: any one and one particular However, Asian and most East European learners of English struggle to get a good grasp of that concept because Asian and most Slavic languages don't make that distinction. Therefore, we will start by defining that concept. There is a way to explain the difference between A (any one) and THE (one particular) and it involves asking for directions: What is the most common question when you ask for directions in your native language? Naturally, the most common way to ask for directions is with the question word WHERE: Where is …? Где находится …? …どこですか? What is another common way to ask for directions in your native language? In English the second most common question about directions is: Is there … around here? Есть ли здесь …поблизости? この辺に…ありますか? What is the difference between: Where is …? Is there … around here? Translate them into your mother tongue and try to imagine using them in a real-life situation. Imagine you are on vacation in New York and you are looking for the Empire State Building, which question would you choose? Next, imagine you are looking for a pharmacy, which question would you choose in your native language and why? In English we say: Where is the Empire State Building? Is there a pharmacy around here? “Where is …?” is used when asking about one specific place, only one in the world. “Is there … around here?” is used when asking about any place, one of many, not only one in the world. Where is… is never followed by A, often followed by THE …? Where is the Empire State Building? Where is the Eiffel Tower? Where is Tokyo Tower? Where is Times Square? Where is the German embassy in Seoul? Where is the nearest pharmacy? Is there… around here? Is there is never followed by THE, always followed by A: Is there a restroom around here? Is there a Starbucks(coffee shop) near here? Is there an embassy of an EU country nearby? Is there a bank around here? Is there a cheap restaurant near here Is there a pharmacy around here?

The Attachment Theory - How Childhood Trauma Affects Your Life

07:36
The attachment theory argues that a strong emotional and physical bond to one primary caregiver in our first years of life, is critical to our development. If our bonding is strong and we are securely attached, then we feel safe to explore the world. If our bond is weak, we feel insecurely attached. We are afraid to leave or explore a rather scary-looking world. Because we are not sure if we can return. Often we then don't understand our own feelings. Special thanks for our patroeon supporters: Ville Medeiros, Chutimon Nuangnit, Cedric Wang, Mike, Eva Marie Koblin, Julien Dumesnil, Mathis and the others. You are wonderful !!! For those who feel like they can’t help themselves, or can’t find trust through their partners of family, we recommend looking for professional support through a therapy. If you are able to form a secure attachment to a therapist, he can become the one who provides you with that secure base. Here three of possible therapies: 1. Psychoanalysis. The aim of psychoanalysis therapy is to release repressed emotions and experiences, i.e., make the unconscious conscious. In order to do that they therapist might try to bring back some childhood memories, to work at the root cause of the problem. 2. Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). CBT is a psycho-social intervention that is widely used for improving mental health. Instead of trying to bring you back in time, it aims to explain you whats going on inside your brain and how to cope with irrational feelings or fears. 3. The Hoffmann Process. This 7-8 days guided process, designed by the American psychologist Hoffmann, brings participants back into their childhood to reconnect with their parents at the time when attachment is formed. Its very intensive. PHILOSOPHY: Immanuel Kant

08:13
Immanuel Kant was acutely aware of living in an age when philosophy would need to supplant the role once played by religion. This helped him to arrive at his most famous concept: the ‘categorical imperative.’ If you like our films, take a look at our shop (we ship worldwide): https://goo.gl/o15jWG FURTHER READING “Immanuel Kant is a philosopher who tried to work out how human beings could be good and kind – outside of the exhortations and blandishments of traditional religion. He was born in 1724 in the Baltic city of Königsberg, which at that time was part of Prussia, and now belongs to Russia (renamed Kaliningrad)...” You can read more on this and many other topics on our blog TheBookofLife.org: https://goo.gl/HnPgjd MORE SCHOOL OF LIFE Our website has classes, articles and products to help you think and grow: https://goo.gl/8yBXZv More films on PHILOSOPHY in our playlist below: http://bit.ly/TSOLphilosophy Do you speak a different language to English? Read, Understand, and Remember! Improve your reading skills with the KWL Method

11:54
Is it difficult for you to understand or remember what you read? In this video, I will teach you an easy method that will help you become better at reading difficult material such as textbooks and journal articles. It is known as the "KWL" reading method. You will also remember more of what you read by using this method. If you plan to study at an English school, college, or university, this method will really help you. You can also use this method to help you in the IELTS and TOEFL exams. Try the KWL method yourself and tell me how it works for you in the comments! Take the quiz! https://www.engvid.com/kwl-reading-method/ TRANSCRIPT Hello. My name is Emma, and in today's video I am going to teach you how to be a better reader. So I want you to think about your life. Are there any things that are very difficult for you to read? Maybe you have to read something in English and you really don't understand what's happening in the story. Or maybe you're in university and you're taking a very hard course and you can't read the textbook because it's really difficult and you don't know what's happening. Well, if you're having difficulty reading or even if you just want to remember what you read more and be a better studier, this video is for you. So first let's look at some things students might be reading that might be causing difficulty. Some students in their universities they have to read textbooks. If you go to university or college, or also high school, you have to do a lot of reading and you have to do a lot of complicated reading, especially for sciences, maths, history. So, this is a very good method. I'm going to teach you how to read these books better. Newspapers. Sometimes you'll be reading the newspaper and it's difficult, especially in another language. So if you're reading a newspaper and, you know, you want to be better at reading it, this video is for you. Internet sources. There's a lot of great things on the internet to read, and so this will also help you if you look reading things from the internet. Magazines. Journals, for anyone who's a professional, whether you're a doctor, a nurse, a historian, or if you're in university or college, a lot of the times you have to read something called a journal, which is something for professionals to read about their field. So it's usually modern research. These things can be very difficult to read, so if you're reading these, this is a great technique for you. If you're doing the TOEFL or IELTS. Although I wouldn't recommend using this technique on the actual exam, I think it's great for your practice tests and I'll tell you why a bit later. So you can use this when you're practicing for the TOEFL and IELTS. And finally, if you're reading Shakespeare. When I read Shakespeare I had no idea what was going on. It was very confusing, all of the old English. I found it very difficult to read. There are also a lot of books that can be very, very hard to read. So these techniques will really work for you for any of these situations and many more. So before I teach you about the KWL technique, I just want you to think about reading for a second. Okay? A lot of people when they pick up a book, that's all they do. They open it up and they start reading right away, and then they close the book and then a lot of the times they don't really remember anything they read or they don't understand what they read. So it's a lot of wasted time. I like to think of reading how I think of jogging or running. So if we look here, I have the word "running" or "jogging". If you like exercise, any type of exercise kind of follows this format. So, reading is a lot like running. What a good reader does is they have a warm up period. So if you think about running, before you go running you usually stretch. Maybe you'll do a little bit of movement to get your heart pumped. So you don't just start running. You do a warm up. The same is true with reading. The best reading... The best readers usually do a warm up. For exercise, people then usually run or jog for a certain amount of time, and then afterwards they have what we call a cooldown period. So, "cooldown" is usually when somebody wants to slow their heartrate, so maybe they walk instead of run, maybe they do more stretches, but they don't just stop what they're doing. They slowly, you know, do slower activities before they stop jogging or running. So if you think about reading like exercise, you should also have a warm up, and then you read, and then the cooldown. This is the meat. This is the main idea of the KWL method, and I'm going to teach you exactly how we can do all of this when we read.

Why Maslow's Hierarchy Of Needs Matters

Maslow's Hierarchy, (or Pyramid), of Needs is one of the central ideas in modern economics and sociology. The work of a once little-known American psychologist, it has grown into an indispensable guide to understanding the modern world. This profoundly influential pyramid first saw the world in an academic journal in the United States in 1943, where it was crudely drawn in black and white and surrounded by dense and jargon-rich text. A simple guide to electronic components.

38:06
By request:- A basic guide to identifying components and their functions for those who are new to electronics. This is a work in progress, and I welcome feedback from you guys on whether I should break it down into more manageable chunks. I've kept the maths to a minimum, since it can be off-putting to someone just getting started in electronics. The idea of this video is to slot in some more of the jigsaw pieces involved in learning electronics, when you start to recognise components, but aren't quite sure what they are or what they do. It's tricky to squeeze even the basics into a single video, and I've just realised how long this one is (and why it took all night to upload). If you enjoy my videos you can support the channel with a dollar for coffee, cookies and components at https://www.patreon.com/bigclive

11 Secrets to Memorize Things Quicker Than Others

10:46
We learn things throughout our entire lives, but we still don’t know everything because we forget a lot of information. Bright Side will tell you about 11 simple memorizing tips that will help you remember everything and improve your memory. TIMESTAMPS Why we forget things 1:04 How to remember everything 2:00 How to memorize something quickly 2:30 How to memorize something for a long time 3:20 Try to understand what you learn 4:17 Learn the most necessary information 5:11 Serial position effect 5:45 Interference theory 6:06 Learn opposite things 7:22 Build your own «mind palace» 7:22 Use «nail words» 8:19 Make up stories 8:40 Use a tape recorder 9:10 Visualize 9:51 Choose only the best materials 9:59 SUMMARY - Your brain is like a hard drive — the space is limited. Remember Sherlock Holmes? He couldn’t name all the planets of the Solar system — this was not because he missed school or something like that, but because he was too smart to have such irrelevant information in his memory. He deliberately erased facts he would never need. This is what your brain does: it protects you from overloading with information. That’s why all new data is stored in the short-term memory, not the long-term one. So, if you don’t repeat it or use it, you forget it very quickly. A German psychologist, Hermann Ebbinghaus researched the memory and its mechanisms. He described the Forgetting Curve which shows that just one hour after learning something new we forget more than half of the learned information. One day later we remember only about 30% percent. Well, you see where this is going. - There is a memorization technique called «Spaced repetition». To keep some information in your head for a longer time, you need to try to put it into your long-term memory. Forced memorization is not very effective in this case because your brain can’t make sense of the information quickly and form strong associations. Here it all depends on the reason why you are learning something. - To memorize something quickly, repeat the information right after learning it. The second repetition should be after 15-20 minutes. You don’t need to return to the information between repetitions — just rest and do something different. Let your brain relax. Repeat the learned material the third time after 6-8 hours. And you should have the final repetition 24 hours after the first contact with the information. Do you know any other memorizing tips? If yes, share them in the comment section below! The Constitution, the Articles, and Federalism: Crash Course US History #8

13:04
In which John Green teaches you about the United States Constitution. During and after the American Revolutionary War, the government of the new country operated under the Articles of Confederation. While these Articles got the young nation through its war with England, they weren't of much use when it came to running a country. So, the founding fathers decided try their hand at nation-building, and they created the Constitution of the United States, which you may remember as the one that says We The People at the top. John will tell you how the convention came together, some of the compromises that had to be made to pass this thing, and why it's very lucky that the framers installed a somewhat reasonable process for making changes to the thing. You'll learn about Shays' Rebellion, the Federalist Papers, the elite vs rabble dynamic of the houses of congress, and start to find out just what an anti-federalist is. Hey teachers and students - Check out CommonLit's free collection of reading passages and curriculum resources to learn more about the events of this episode.Founding Fathers debated over how to govern the new nation, beginning with the Articles of Confederation: https://www.commonlit.org/texts/articles-of-confederation When the Founding Fathers finally wrote the Constitution, they realized that they needed to add The Bill of Rights to get citizens on board with the new government: https://www.commonlit.org/texts/the-bill-of-rights Follow us: http://www.twitter.com/thecrashcourse http://www.twitter.com/realjohngreen http://www.twitter.com/raoulmeyer http://www.twitter.com/crashcoursestan http://www.twitter.com/saysdanica http://www.twitter.com/thoughtbubbler Support CrashCourse on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/crashcourse

10 Mysterious Places On Earth Scientists Are Still Trying To Understand

10:11
The most mysterious and strange places on Earth are sometimes hard to understand even by scientists. A lot of things about the world aren't well known but there are still some theories going around. The tools needed to solve some of life's biggest mysteries are relatively new, and it's going to take scientists some time to comb through all of the mysteries. When it comes to the inexplicably strange and surreal places out there, they can sometimes leave us feeling like there's no logical answer as to why they exist. Interested? Take the Namibian Fairy Circles as an example. Located in Africa's Namib Desert, these circles vary vastly in diameter, but they also span an area of over 1,000 miles. While locals believe them to be the footprints of gods who once walked across the desert, scientists have been trying to make sense of them for decades. One theory involves sand termites, but experts can't seem to agree on that being the cause. Then there's the confusion surrounding the Naga Fireballs. This name was given to the tiny orbs of fire that seem to lift out of the Mekong River in Thailand every October and May. People are so fascinated by this phenomenon that there's an entire festival dedicated to their ascension.
