Bullying In Schools: What is Bullying? And What are The Many Types of Bullying in Schools? Bullying is defined as the repetitive intent to hurt or damage an individual or a group of people that have little power to help themselves. It is an epidemic with far-reaching consequences for the perpetrators and the victims alike. Bullies use name-calling, rumors, and sometimes physical attacks to damage their victim’s self-esteem. Understanding who bullies are and how and why they choose their victims may be the first step in halting these hurtful behaviors. What is bullying in schools? It seems like the answer would be obvious, but it’s really much more complex than most people realize. A lot of parents think that the signs of bullying are obvious. Their child comes home beaten up regularly, or with bruises and other signs of physical abuse. Maybe he’s constantly “losing” his lunch money or spending longer than usual doing his homework because he’s really doing it for someone else. These can be classic factors of what is bullying in schools, but they are the most cliche ones. They’re real and they do still happen to kids today. However, today’s bullying in schools can take many other forms that parents may not recognize. Bullying is not a new phenomenon. Children and teens have experienced it for decades. Many parents also consider it an essential rite of passage. However, recent numbers have made everyone, including educators, child psychologists, parents and pediatricians, sit up and take notice. One in seven children in American schools is either a bully or a victim. Only Nick Cruz and his lawyers know why he really did it at this point, but I've got a really strong hunch I know why he did it. My suspicions take me all the way back to 2000 when I watched my classmates melt down over a rumor. Maybe we'll never know the root cause, But I'd sure love to prevent the next tragedy Look back at my past articles: autoworkerslim.blogspot.com Follow me on twitter: twitter.com/edsblogtw1tter

Is bullying a breach of human rights?

02:42
Bullying is repeated, aggressive behaviour that is intended to hurt another person physically, mentally or emotionally. One in four Australian children will experience bullying at school. Bullying can also arise in an adult context, especially in situations of differential power, such as with a boss and an employee, or within families. There is no specific right not to be bullied, but bullying is still a breach of human rights. It contravenes children’s rights that are enshrined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. For example, it affects a child’s right to be protected from all forms of physical and mental violence. Bullying can also have severe and detrimental impacts on a child’s physical and psychological wellbeing. In an adult context, bullying also affects the victim’s right to the highest ascertainable standard of health, as well as the right to security of the person.

11-Year-Old Uses Phone to Catch a Teacher's Obscene Bullying Gets Suspended for 5 Days

04:52
In some cases, the bullying happens in person. In other cases, the bullying occurs online, which is called cyberbullying. Over the last decade or so, schools have implemented zero-tolerance policies regarding bullying. This means that anyone caught bullying will experience serious consequences. Brianna Cooper is an 11-year-old girl who was taught to not stand by and watch someone being bullied. Her parents always taught her to step in if she saw bullying happening. Her mother always told her that when you take the power away from the bully, they become weak. When she saw students in her classroom being bullied, she decided to step in. In Brianna's class, it wasn't the students who did the bullying. It was the teacher. Brianna's teacher was known for picking on the students in the class based on their size and their appearance. While this is completely appalling, it was a regular occurrence in the classroom. Brianna thought about what she was taught about not being a bystander, so she took out her cellphone and caught her teacher on tape. The teacher could be heard saying, "Biggest kid in 5th grade and you're acting like the smallest one. I wonder what your Mom looks like." As if that weren't bad enough, she went as far as to threaten a teacher. She could be heard on the recording saying, "Don't let the size fool you. I will drop you." What kind of teacher would say these things to her students? Teachers are supposed to care for their students and encourage them. Teachers should never belittle students or threaten them, but that is exactly what this teacher was doing. If it weren't for Brianna deciding to step in and do something, her teacher would have been able to get away with this horrendous behavior year after year. When Brianna got her teacher on tape threatening and belittling other students, she knew that she had to tell someone. The teacher that she had the year before had always been kind and supportive, so she decided to bring her recording to her. The teacher couldn't believe what she was hearing, and she took the recording to the principal. Brianna's bully teacher was fired, and Brianna thought that she did the right thing. It wasn't until she was called to the principal's office the next day that she realized that maybe she didn't do the right thing. When Brianna got to the principal's office, she thought that she was going to be praised for not allowing the teacher to get away with bullying other children. Instead, the principal told her that he was calling her mother because she was being suspended for five days. This 11-year-old uses phone to catch teacher's obscene bullying, gets suspended for 5 days. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. According to the principal, Brianna was being suspended because she broke the law. According to the school board, it is illegal in the state of Florida to tape someone without their knowledge. When Brianna's mother, Cassie, heard about her daughter's suspension, she was furious. She told the school that her daughter didn't know that it was illegal to record a person without their permission. Cassie argued that what the teacher was doing was illegal and Brianna had no way of proving it without recording the bullying when it happened. Cassie said that Brianna was sure that nobody would believe her when the teacher denied her claims. When Channel 5 News heard about Brianna's suspension, they decided to interview the family. When the story ran, Brianna's punishment didn't sit well with viewers. People couldn't believe that when a young girl takes a stand against a bullying teacher to protect her classmates, she got suspended. Nothing about this story was sitting well. When Channel 5 News posted the story on their Facebook page, Brianna's story quickly went viral. People from all over the country were shocked that she would be suspended for stopping a bullying teacher. The school district was embarrassed, but Brianna was able to hold her head high, knowing that she did the right thing. She may have a suspension on her record, but she knew that she did the right thing. After her teacher was fired, she was replaced with another kind, caring teacher. Thanks to Brianna, her classmates will no longer be subjected to bullying from their teacher. At the end of the day, Brianna says that it was more than worth the suspension. She says that you cannot put a price on feeling safe in the classroom. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to Facts Verse: http://bit.ly/FactsVerse ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/factsverse/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/factsverse/ Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/factsverse6030/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.factsverse.com

10 Of The Most Evil School Teachers Ever

top 10 horrible teachers who were bad to their students Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Other Videos You Might Like 5 Dumb Parent Fights In Front of Children https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k94Lsh4Qc1M 10 Game Show Cheaters Caught On Camera! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9HinSG4thM Description: While everyone had that one teacher in school they couldn’t stand, they were just doing their jobs. Going to school five days a week can be difficult on both students and staff, but what if it were the teachers causing the headaches? While there are certainly good teachers, there are also bad teachers. Dishing out ridiculous punishments, verbally and physically abusing students and even sedating their snacks, these teachers are downright evil. Being in school can be tough enough on its own; bullies, homework, cafeteria food. But what if the teachers are the problem? While the majority of teachers are there to do their jobs and set good examples, there are always exceptions. Here are ten of the most evil teachers. When seven-year-old Ukailya Lofton, came in for picture day at Overton Elementary School in Chicago she didn’t expect her teacher to poke fun at her. The little girl had seen a new style in a magazine and asked her mother to attach Jolly Rancher candies to her hair for the picture. Her computer teacher apparently thought the look was ridiculously funny and asked the girl to pose for a photo, saying “my husband is not going to believe this.” She later posted the photo on Facebook, where her friends mocked the little girl. When Ukailya’s mother was made aware of the photo, she notified the school. The teacher apologized, but not to the little girl directly. In December 2015, at an elementary school in Stoneham, Massachusetts, twenty-six second grade students went home in tears. The substitute teacher, who was hired through a staffing service, apparently told the children that there was no Santa Claus. Days before winter break, the sub told the young children, “Santa Claus is just a character. There’s no such thing as Santa Claus and it’s your parents who buy all the presents for you.” When parents and other teachers found out what had happened, the sub was banned from the school. Welsh primary school teacher Elizabeth Davies had a very humiliating practice in her classroom. She would spray her Asian students with air freshener and have them wash their hands with pine disinfectant. Before spraying her young students, she would tell them they smelt of curry and that there was a “waft coming in from paradise.” More than fifty percent of the school’s pupils are of Bangladeshi descent. Davies would also spray them if they broke wind and make them stand on newspapers if they accidentally wet themselves. She was subsequently fired for her actions. BULLYING STATISTICS NoBullying.com

01:09
Bullying and Cyberbullying Statistics: A research paper published by Sameer Hinduja, Ph.D. and Justin W. Patchin, Ph.D. of the Cyberbullying Research Center gives horrific facts that are shocking. They conducted a survey of 2,000 randomly selected middle school students from a large school district in the United States to assess the history of cyberbullying and gather more cyberbullying information.Their analysis of the survey results showed these cyberbullying facts: One in five of these students (20%) had seriously thought about suicide and almost all of those who thought of suicide (19%), also attempted it. Students who were the bullies (offenders) had similar suicidal tendencies as those students that were the bullying victims. When comparing the rates between traditional bullying and cyberbullying the statistics were similar. Compared to students with no experience of bullying or being a bully, traditional bullies were 2.1 times more likely to have attempted suicide and their victims were 1.7 times more likely to have attempted suicide. For cyberbullying, the rates for bullies were 1.5 times more likely to have attempted suicide and their victims were 1.9 times more likely to have attempted suicide. The most common form of cyberbullying attack was posting something online to make fun of another person. Of the surveyed teens, 23.1% admitted doing this. The most common form of cyberbullying victimization was receiving a hurtful email from someone they know. Of the surveyed teens, 18.3% complained about receiving such emails. Causes of Bullying - NoBullying.com

00:34
Causes of Bullying: What makes a bully can be complex, and can include a number of factors. Some people even find themselves being occasional bullies without even realizing it. While there is no one reason that a person turns into a bully, there are come common factors in many cases. A common misconception is that bullies have low self-esteem. On the contrary, a study from UCLA found that most bullies have “almost ridiculously high self-esteem”. The same study showed that bullies are often popular in school, and their victims are often unpopular. This can make the pain of bullying even more brutal. However, both bullies and victims are simply playing roles, neither is a fixed personality quality. Bullies can learn to stop being bullies, and victims can also stop being victims. Why Bully?School is supposed to be a safe haven for children. They should never fear walking the halls or playing on the playground because someone is hell-bent on making their lives miserable. Even still, when kids go home, they should be able to leave the drama of the school day behind. Unfortunately this is not the case. With the rise in Internet use, more and more kids are logging into their social media accounts just to find someone from their school has posted humiliating things about them. How does bullying usually begin? Many parents of teenage bullies ask themselves how their offspring could be capable of such abusive behaviors. They always want to know if the parents, the teenager, society or biology are to blame. There are various underlying causes to a bully’s behavior, often rooted in the anxiety of being adolescent, but at other times this behavior can spring from a traumatic experience, pressure from friends, faulty parenting styles, or any intricate combination of these dynamics. Bullying is done in most cases to increase feeling of personal power of the person doing the bullying. The need for the reassurance for personal abilities that makes degrading someone else such an easy fix. In 2009, a study was conducted to explore rates and instances of bullying in schools. It revealed that around 15 to 25 percent of all students were shown to be victims of bullying, and 15 to 20 percent engaged in bullying others often (“Bullying statistics 2009,” n.d.).Bullying occurs when someone uses force and intimidation to manipulate someone else. It’s all about power, and it is seen a lot within younger age groups. School Bullying Programs bullying programs eliminate bullying

School Bullying Programs. Bullying Programs. Eliminate Bullying http://www.schoolbullyfreemission.com http://www.pinterest.com/lespower33 https://plus.google.com/100056503942599420591/posts https://www.facebook.com/les.power.33 http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=152370524&trk=spm_pic An essential aspect of bullying is for Teachers and Parents to talk at length to your Child, and make them aware of the need to report any attempt or actual bullying. This can be a fundamental in these terrible behaviours, because many Children see it as weak or “tattle tales” if they tell a Parent or perhaps a Teacher. However, think very carefully about this aspect, because if it is to be that bullying is made a thing of the past, a bully who is reported immediately, particularly time after time, identifies bullies and will make a positive step in the direction of eliminating bullying. My feeling, and my sincere hope, is that if Parents, Teachers and The Media all identify with this initiative, and work with the Youth of today, and make them aware that Bullying has been around for many years, but it MUST STOP, IT MUST STOP NOW!. It is my hope, that with the revelation made known to a “would be bully”, that they are likely only a bully, because that’s what kids did previously, coupled with the global emphasis on the fact that ALL bullying from today forward, WILL be reported, it WILL be investigated, and penalties WILL be applied if proven. Also, highlight the fact that Bullying in most countries is against the Law, and a “record” could be imposed as well. Try and show Children a better way. Better attitudes. Better habits. Tell them “the whole world is watching us AND YOU at this moment”. school bullying programs school bullying anti bullying programs bullying programs school anti bullying programs anti bullying schools anti bullying programs for schools anti bullying groups anti bullying program bullying programs in schools anti bullying curriculum high school anti bullying programs anti bullying in schools bully programs anti bully programs successful anti bullying programs bullying program bullying programs for schools anti bullying programs for high schools anti bullying programs in schools Please click the button above and Subscribe to our Youtube Channel. http://youtu.be/XsBaAWsFOUQ http://youtu.be/WWayRYFWTjM

The problem with online charter schools

05:22
States are taking a multi-million dollar gamble on a technology that doesn’t seem to work. Watch: http://bit.ly/2EiUnqy - The colleges where the American dream is still alive. Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO In 32 states plus DC, students of all ages can bypass brick-and-mortar schools for online charters. Most of these schools are run by publicly-traded companies, which means the profits they earn after running schools with taxpayer funds go toward paying their shareholders. These schools enroll less than 1% of American public school students right now, but the share is growing. In their ads, these schools promise autonomy and flexibility. They appeal to students eager to escape bullies or classrooms where they feel unsuccessful. But the data show that attending these schools sets kids back academically— by a lot. And despite their poor performance, states have been slow to close these schools down. Reading list: Arianna Prothero and Maya Riser-Kositsky calculated the lobbying and campaign spending totals for K12 and Connections Academy for Education Week/edweek.org: https://www.edweek.org/ew/articles/2016/11/03/outsized-influence-online-charters-bring-lobbying-a.html This 2015 study from the Center for Research on Education Outcomes at Stanford University is the most comprehensive nationwide look at online charters to date. Researchers there found that attending an online charter school for a year is equivalent to missing 180 days of instruction in math, and 72 days of instruction in reading: https://credo.stanford.edu/pdfs/OnlineCharterStudyFinal2015.pdf June Ahn (NYU) and Andrew McEachin (RAND) did a similar study of Ohio’s online charter schools and got similar results. eliminate bullying bullying cyber bullying http://www.myantibullyingchannel.com http://www.facebook.com/myantibullyingpage Eliminate Bullying Cyber Bullying Cyberbullying Statistics: As social networking and online social interaction becomes more and more popular with sites like Facebook and Twitter, cyberbullying has become one of the most prevalent types of bullying that occurs between teens. About 80 percent of all high school students have encountered being bullied in some fashion online. These growing numbers are being attributed to youth violence including both homicide and suicide. While school shootings across the country are becoming more and more common, most teens that say they have considered becoming violent toward their peers, wish to do so because they want to get back at those who have bullied them online. About 35 percent of teens have been actually threatened online. About half of all teens admit they have said something mean or hurtful to another teen online. Most have done it more than once. Putting an End to Bullying: These numbers are too high, and parents and teachers need to do something to stop it. Teens also need to stand together and put an end to bullying. When teens see their peers being bullied, they need to report the incident or get help. If teens band together to address these issues, they really don't have to worry about being the target of a bully since most bullies really only attack those that are weaker than them. By standing together to prevent bullying in every school, the number of depressed and suicidal teens can drop along with those who fear for their life while attending school. Sources: naaas.org http://www.bullyingstatistics.org/content/cyber-bullying-statistics.html Cyber Bullying Statistics Cyber bullying statistics refers to Internet bullying. Cyber bullying is a form of teen violence that can do lasting harm to young people. Bullying statistics show that cyber bullying is a serious problem among teens. By being more aware of cyber bullying, teens and adults can help to fight it. Cyber bullying affects many adolescents and teens on a daily basis. Cyber bullying involves using technology, like cell phones and the Internet, to bully or harass another person. Cyber bullying can take many forms: • Sending mean messages or threats to a person's email account or cell phone • Spreading rumors online or through texts • Posting hurtful or threatening messages on social networking sites or web pages • Stealing a person's account information to break into their account and send damaging messages • Pretending to be someone else online to hurt another person • Taking unflattering pictures of a person and spreading them through cell phones or the Internet • Sexting, or circulating sexually suggestive pictures or messages about a person Cyber bullying can be very damaging to adolescents and teens. It can lead to anxiety, depression, and even suicide. Also, once things are circulated on the Internet, they may never disappear, resurfacing at later times to renew the pain of cyber bullying. Many cyber bullies think that bullying others online is funny. Cyber bullies may not realize the consequences for themselves of cyberbullying. The things teens post online now may reflect badly on them later when they apply for college or a job. Cyber bullies can lose their cell phone or online accounts for cyber bullying. Also, cyber bullies and their parents may face legal charges for cyber bullying, and if the cyber bullying was sexual in nature or involved sexting, the results can include being registered as a sex offender. Teens may think that if they use a fake name they won't get caught, but there are many ways to track some one who is cyber bullying. Despite the potential damage of cyber bullying, it is alarmingly common among adolescents and teens. According to Cyber bullying statistics from the i-SAFE foundation: • Over half of adolescents and teens have been bullied online, and about the same number have engaged in cyber bullying. • More than 1 in 3 young people have experienced cyberthreats online. • Over 25 percent of adolescents and teens have been bullied repeatedly through their cell phones or the Internet. • Well over half of young people do not tell their parents when cyber bullying occurs. bullying in schools anti bullying cyber bullying school bullying stop bullying what is bullying anti bullying programs cyber bullying facts bullying at school bullies stop bullying now bullying in school Please click the button and Subscribe to our Youtube Channel http://youtu.be/WWayRYFWTjM http://youtu.be/_ZRUf_kxsdA Look carefully at my video, How To Manage Stress. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeSJiNAIbxQ
