Processed Food Documentary - Processed Food vs. Nutritional Needs
Processed Food Documentary: Processed Food vs. Nutritional Needs. The human body runs on food. Once, food shortage was the major concern. After the second world war, technological advances in food production led to a new era, that was characterized by an overabundance of inexpensive food, and relatively little physical activity. In the decades that followed, other sociocultural shifts continued to contribute to the changing way we ate. Women who had previously controlled most of the average family's food preparation now entered the workforce in significant numbers. And the processed food industry began to capitalize on our need for fast, convenient food. This meant that fewer meals were being cooked at home. And since convenience foods were generally higher in calories than home-cooked meals, the average person's caloric intake increased dramatically. Maya Adam, MD, is waging a battle cry against one of America’s most critical – and challenging – public health crises of our generation: childhood obesity. A lecturer at Stanford School of Medicine and in Stanford University’s human biology program, she is leading the cause through education. As always, use this info to gather more info. The Best Science-Based Diet for Fat Loss (ALL MEALS SHOWN!)
When it comes to "the best diet to lose weight" (also known as a "cutting diet"), you'll get A LOT of suggestions as to which diet to lose weight fast you should follow. However, the truth is that whether it's keto, intermittent fasting, paleo, and so on, all of these diets work by making it easier for you to eat at a calorie deficit. These diets don't have a "secret" fat loss effect which has been proven time and time again in the literature. Simply meaning that the best weight loss diet or the best diet for abs for example is the one that you can adhere to the best. However, weight loss is one thing and fat loss is a whole other variable which is MUCH more important when it comes to improving your physique. When it comes to optimizing the best fat loss diet, you need to pay attention to how much protein, fats, and carbs you're ingesting on a daily basis. I go through how to optimize each of these factors to create the best fat burning diet in my video. I also show a daily nutrition/meal plan (full day of eating) for fat loss with various examples/macros of what I personally eat on a daily basis. What's the DASH Diet and Why Doctors Call It the Best Diet
How to lose belly fat? How to lose weight fast without exercises? Doctors say that this diet is the most effective way to improve your overall condition. According to the National Institute of Health, it scored a 3.3 out of 5 in the “Weight Loss Effectiveness” category and 4.5 out of 5 in “Health Usefulness”. Out of 40 diets evaluated, it was chosen number one! So who is this all-star? It’s something called the DASH diet. The DASH diet is an easy, safe, and useful plan that can help you feel better and get rid of excess weight. You can lose weight gradually, no starving or yo-yo dieting. It won’t shock or stress your body out. DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. It’s a diet developed specifically to reduce blood pressure in those with hypertension. But scientists understood later on that this diet resolves tons of other health issues. It reduces cholesterol, prevents stroke and heart failure, and brings the weight down to a healthy level, even for those with obesity. Plus, it’s considered the best diet to prevent diabetes. Besides controlling blood pressure, people following it managed to improve insulin resistance. TIMESTAMPS What's it all about? 1:23 A few general rules to lose weight 2:15 What you can eat to lose fat 3:37 What food you should avoid for losing weight 5:13 How to plan your diet 5:44 Weight loss benefits 6:18 Is it easy to follow the DASH eating plan? 7:17 SUMMARY The DASH diet wasn't originally designed for weight loss, but there have been some studies proving that this eating plan can help people get rid of unwanted pounds. The DASH diet balances all the necessary nutrients and minerals, like calcium, potassium, protein, and fiber, that are responsible for brain and overall organ function. It improves the condition of your hair and skin as well. What’s convenient about this diet is that you don't have to calculate and monitor each nutrient: you just need to reduce your salt intake and eat certain recommended foods, for instance, fruits, vegetables, grains, protein-rich foods, and dairy products. Compared to trendy crash diets, DASH is different. This is a complete lifestyle change. It’s for people who need to take care of their eating habits throughout their lives. There’s no cutting out or starving involved. You can have all sorts of tasty dishes. Have you ever tried the DASH diet? If so, how did you like it? Tell us in the comments below. We collected a few simple tips on how to gain healthy weight naturally and fast without pills or hard work! There is so much information about weight loss, but how do you act to achieve the opposite? The basic principles are the same for losing and gaining extra weight. Are you a "hard gainer" or just want to build up lean muscles? TIMESTAMPS Change your diet 1:05 Eat more protein-rich foods 2:28 Always carry a healthy snack 3:20 Diet on vegs and fruits 3:42 Build your muscles 4:34 Stay motivated 6:20 SUMMARY - Since our body composition is 80% diet, we should not ignore the cruсial role of food in a weight gain struggle. An average person needs around 3500 calories to gain a pound. You need an extra 500 calories a day if you want to put on extra weight in a week. - Protein is the key for muscle building; it will help you gain muscle weight rather than fat mass. Good sources of protein are red meat and poultry, eggs, whole grains. Salmon is high in calories and healthy fats. Diet Plan for 6 Pack Abs (STEP BY STEP!)
Get 6 pack abs year round by following this diet plan http://athleanx.com/x/diet-plan-for-a-six-pack You’ve probably heard that 6 pack abs are obtained through a proper diet, that abs are made in the kitchen. You’d be right. That said, getting abs still remains rather elusive to many and certainly being able to maintain them year round is even harder. Not any more. In this video, I show you a 5 step plan for how to get a 6 pack that you can use to start getting your abs to show fast. Despite the fact that many are aware of the importance of proper nutrition when it comes to getting abs, it is still a mighty struggle to get them. It usually comes down to the methods those people are using to try and get them in the first place. Crash diet plans and temporary deprivation based tactics are not going to cut it long term if you want to get and keep your abs. Anything that forces you to feel as if you’re missing out or be deprived of what you really want is only going to be a temporary solution at best. As soon as you get tired of not having what you want, you’ll quickly give in and lose your ability to keep your hard earned abs. That said, the 5 step formula for getting a 6 pack starts with cutting out the obvious crap foods from your diet. You should know pretty quickly what these are. It’s the cakes, sweets, alcohol, fatty salad dressings, etc that just scream problems the minute you eat them. You know what they are and that means you know they should be gone, so do it. There’s never been a better time than now to start making the changes that are going to dramatically help you in your pursuit of your abs. Next step is to start eating more often. Yep, despite what keyboard scientists who read a few articles on google scholar want you to believe, there are far more important reasons to be eating more frequently throughout the day than whether or not this is maximally anabolic. I cover these for you in the video. Next up, you’re going to want to take another pass through that diet of yours. On this second time through, you’re going to want to remove the less obvious items that aren’t helping you as best they can to get your 6 pack abs. For me, I lay out three perfect examples. I thought these foods were healthy but I was only partially right. How they were being prepared was making all the difference in me seeing my abs consistently…or not. Moving on, you now want to eat more of the good foods you swapped in. This helps you to maintain and continue to build new muscle. Too often, people who take out the offending foods will free up many calories in their diet. If you don’t replace them with good foods you’ll likely wind up not supporting your muscle growth and be skinny without enough muscle mass. Finally, where the etching in of those abs can happen, supplementation. Use high quality supplements to fine tune your efforts and really take your results to the next level. If you’re looking for the latest in sports nutrition to assist your ab getting goals, be sure to head to http://athleanrx.com or head to http://athleanx.com if you want a meal my meal diet plan for getting abs. Whether you get it in a drive through or the frozen food aisle, it’s called “junk” for a reason! Yes, it’s fast, it’s tasty, and it satisfies your hunger at least for a little bit, but all that comes at a hefty price: your health and well-being! So let’s see what would happen to your body and what health benefits it would bring you if you finally gave up junk food for good. What should I do when fasting? What shouldn’t I do when fasting? And the biggest question, “What can I eat while I’m fasting.” This video will sum it up pretty easily in terms of the three things you should definitely avoid during your fasting periods. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t consume anything during, as dehydration can lead to sluggishness and foggy thinking. You can stay hydrated with water or herbal tea. Both water and herbal tea help your body to stay hydrated without interrupting your its fat burning processes. Plus they can be cozy, comforting, or refreshing, helping to fulfill some of those psychological needs we often try to fill with food throughout the day. Yuri also touches on the importance of following your doctor’s guidelines when it comes to daily medications, especially if you need to take them with meals. Staying on top of an illness is more important than any fasting routine. Lastly, Yuri will also teach you how intermittent fasting can help with your weight loss efforts. The science behind what your body goes through while you’re in a fasted state is fascinating and he explains it in an easy to understand manner. Intermittent fasting can be a fantastic weight-loss tool and with a little preparation, planning, and common sense, it can take weight loss out of the arena of “maybe someday” and into reality. Use this video to work with your body and become the healthy person you were meant to be.

OMAD Diet vs Intermittent Fasting (16/8): Should You Eat One Meal a Day

What the heck are we supposed to do? Well, let's take a look at the various forms of fasting, and in this video, let's really break down the one meal a day, OMAD diet, to intermittent fasting in a 16:8 style. So what I wanna do in this video is help you understand these two types of fasting and what might work better for you by looking at three very reputable studies. All right, first and foremost, what the heck is the OMAD diet? It's something that's gaining popularity a lot recently, and what it stands for is one meal a day. So essentially, it is a form of intermittent fasting, just in a little bit more of an extreme sense. So in essence what you're doing is you're fasting for 23 or 23 1/2 hours, and then you're consolidating all of your calories into one meal per day. It sounds a little bit intense, and quite honestly it is. Now, more commonly a lot of us know intermittent fasting as something that's more of 16 hour fast, eight hour eating window. So what I'd like to do is I'd like to compare OMAD to 16:8, but I'd also like to compare it to the overall traditional three square meals a day. Morning, midday, and dinner. So the first thing that I wanna do is I wanna dive into this one study that was published in the American Journal of Clinical Investigation. It was an eight week study that took a look at two groups, okay? One group consumed traditional three square meals, okay? Morning, midday, and evening. The other group consumed one meal a day. And they wanted to look at overall body composition results and what actually happened after eight weeks of eating like this. So what they did do is they had each of these subjects eat the right amount of calories to maintain their body weight. So each person ate a different amount, but it was all relative to what they weighed and what it would take to keep them weighing roughly the same. So what they found at the end of the study is that both groups stayed roughly the same weight. However, the one meal a day group lost on average 4.6 pounds where the other group lost 3.1. So we're still pretty close, but the one meal a day group did lose a little bit more body weight. Now both groups ended up maintaining their lean body mass the same, so there wasn't any loss in muscle, but there was a little bit of loss in fat. Now this is all fine and dandy, and we really like the science, and we like knowing that one meal a day is gonna allow you to burn a little bit more fat than three square meals, but that's really not that aggressive. That's honestly not enough to convince me to consolidate all of my eating into a 30 minute window. So let's take a look at another study that was published in the Journal of Translational Medicine, and this study took a look at more of a 16:8 fasting window versus typical breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I Ate One Meal A Day For 30 Days (RESULTS)
I ate one meal a day for over 30 days so here are my results. Learn what to expect with an omad diet meal plan. Eating one meal a day is a form of intermittent fasting for weight loss. Learn what to eat for 1 meal a day to lose weight and belly fat fast. 🔥 FREE 6 Week Challenge: https://gravitychallenges.com/home65d4f?utm_source=ytube&utm_term=results Fat Loss Calculator: http://bit.ly/2OWgZ4a What would happen if you only ate one meal a day for the next 30 days. Would you lose weight and more specifically would you lose body fat or would you lose muscle mass? Or maybe your body would go into starvation mode and cause you to gain weight rather than lose it due to a slower metabolism? Well that's exactly what we're going to drive into in today's video. I've been eating one meal a day not every day but almost everyday for about 2 years now. And it's worked really well for me, so today I'd like to let you guys know what results you can expect if you stick to only one meal day for the next 30 days. Even though I've had quite a bit of experience with the one meal a day diet myself I'm going to be sharing scientific studies and evidence that will help you see both the pros and the cons of this diet approach. First I want to go over the proper way to set up this diet plan for yourself because there's not an abundance of information out there on the one meal a day diet like there is on shorter fasting protocols like intermittent fasting. So a lot of people that try to stick to this diet plan mess it up from the very get go and turn it into more of a warrior diet. And the warrior diet is great, but that's not what we're going for here. You see the warrior diet is a different form of fasting where you fast for 20 hours of the day and you give yourself a four hour feeding window for eating. If you don't set limits to the amount of time you spend eating you easily can drag out your one single meal into a buffet that lasts for hours. So it's very important that you understand that one meal a day is also a 23/1 fasting to feeding split. Meaning you only give yourself a 1 hour feeding window usually during the same time every day and you have to spend the other 23 hours of the day fasting. If it isn't already obvious OMad or the one meal a day diet helps you create a calorie deficit without really thinking about restricting calories. When you're only eating once a day especially when you do it the right way and limit it to under an hour, you can only fit so much into your stomach before your full. So really we're limiting calories by decreasing meal frequency. Which immediately can be a red flag for those people that believe that your metabolism slows down when you decrease meal frequency. However, numerous studies have proven this to be a myth. One study called "meal frequency and energy balance" combined and examined research from a bunch of different studies on the topic of meal frequency. And the researchers found that a nibbling pattern of eating or eating more frequently didn't present any advantage as far as the metabolic rate was concerned. So your metabolism is not going to automatically slow down from eating only one meal a day for 30 days. If you have the same amount of calories in that one meal as you would in 6 meals then your metabolism should remain the same in both situations. So does that mean that the "starvation mode" that we've all been warned about is a big phony scam? Well turns out it's actually not, it's actually called adaptive thermogenesis and it's a very real response that your body has. In response to a decrease in energy intake your body will decrease energy expenditure in an effort to avoid starvation. However adaptive thermogenesis will occur based on the total amount of energy or calories coming in. As long as you don't fast for over 48 hours It doesn't matter if those calories all come in at once or throughout the day. In fact shorter fasts that last under 48 hours have been shown to increase your metabolism between roughly 4 to 14 percent due to an increase in norepinephrine concentration in the blood. But what about weight loss. Don't you lose more weight when you have meals more meals throughout the day due to something known as thermic effect of foods which simply means that digesting food throughout...
