10 Ways to Improve Vision Naturally Without Glasses

10:11
Is your vision good enough? Nowadays, there are lots of gadgets around us. We stare at our computers and mobile phones all day, every day, and of course, this affects our vision. People who have vision problems normally think there are 2 ways to fix them: either get LASIK or wear corrective lenses. What if I said you could improve your vision with exercise and natural DIY remedies? There are some foods which are good for eye health. Carrots, kale, spinach, liver, Swiss chard, zucchini, Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, and butter are rich in luteins and vitamin A. Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins C, D, and E, zinc, and carotenoids also work miracles for your vision. TIMESTAMPS: Keep your eyes clean 0:34 Use the warm hand technique 1:12 Try the “Round the Clock” exercise 1:38 Draw geometric figures with your gaze 2:44 Practice analytic vision 4:33 Blink extensively 5:20 Eat foods that are good for your eyes 5:38 Make a carrot and Indian gooseberry juice remedy 7:30 Try almond, fennel, and crystal sugar powder 8:02 Practice focusing 8:47 #goodeyesight #improvevision #noglasses Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - Your eyes need proper hygiene too. Cold water is just fine for removing all the waste that collects in your eyes overnight. - Rub your palms to make them warm, and keep them on your eyes for one minute. You can pause the video to try this exercise. - Imagine there’s an old-school clock in front of you. Now find the numbers 12 and 6 on it. Keep your eyes closed, and rotate them clockwise from 12 to 6. Do this 5 times. - Another exercise requiring imagination! This time, we’ll do it with our eyes wide open. Let’s remember some basic geometry and try drawing figures with our eyes. - Focus on any object in the room, and imagine what it looks like on the inside, element by element. Now trace all those details with your gaze. - As you stare at your computer screen all day (or for most of the day) and get focused on it, you often forget to blink. So take a break every 15 minutes — and blink! It’s important to help your eyes relax and rehydrate. - Carrots and gooseberry juice are packed with vitamin A and important antioxidants. Put them together, and you get a remedy that helps to relax eye muscle stress and improve eyesight. - If making fresh juice every day sounds like too much work for you, try making a powder you can add to some milk before bed. You’re going to need 60 almonds, 16 tbsp of fennel seeds, and 12 tbsp of crystal sugar. How Good Are Your Eyes? Cool and Quick Test

08:17
How good is your eyesight? Here’s a simple eyesight test that will show how sharp your eyes are. We all know that “eyes are the windows to the soul.” Do your windows need cleaning, or are they crystal clear and give a sharp picture of the world? Take this test to find it out! There will be 4 stages, and it will get harder and harder with every stage. The first one might seem like a piece of cake (and if you’re actually seeing a piece of cake we’ve got problems), but the further we go, the more concentration it will require. In fact, only 8 % of people can pass stage 4 because it is so hard. You will have the same task for every question in all the stages. The task is to pick 1 out of 10 colors which is different from the rest. To pass each of the stages, you have to find that odd one out in each task. If you fail once, you fail the entire stage. TIMESTAMPS Stage 1 Easy 1:11 Stage 2 Normal 2:23 Stage 3 Hard 3:53 Stage 4 Very Hard 5:29 Results 7:06 SUMMARY Congratulations to all superhumans out there who made it. Your eyesight is fantastic! 92% of people failed at this task, and you managed to rock it! There is a chance you are a tetrachromat. This smart word is used to define people who have more receptors in their eyes than others and can see more shades of different colors. Did you manage to make it through all 4 stages? If you failed, at what stage did it happen? Let’s discuss it in the comments section! 08:36
How to improve your vision at home? How to say goodbye to your glasses without expensive surgery? Here’s a list of 5 effective home remedies that will help you improve your vision naturally and boost your eyes. These remedies you most likely have at home have proven their effectiveness over centuries. TIMESTAMPS Aloe vera 0:56 Ginkgo biloba 4:18 Green tea 5:29 Bilberry 6:41 Almonds 7:21 Music: Someways - Nicolai Heidlas is licensed under a Creative Commons license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/) SUMMARY -Aloe vera is a great source of important vitamins and antioxidants that help with white blood cell production and tissue recovery. Aloe vera is effective enough even when used alone, but we’ll spice it up with following ingredients: 1 lb of ground walnuts, 300 ml of pure honey and freshly squeezed juice from 4 lemons. -Ginkgo biloba can help relieve anxiety and boost your memory and thinking process, which is especially good for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s. As for our vision, it’s great at increasing blood flow to the eyes. -Green tea is rich in antioxidants called flavonoids, which fight off free radicals that can cause a number of eye diseases, like glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts. -Bilberries improve nighttime vision, and help regenerate important parts of the retina, which can be damaged because of high blood pressure and diabetes. -Raw almonds are a natural source of omega-3 fatty acid, vitamin E and antioxidants, all of which are great at improving vision. What you have to do is soak 5 to 10 nuts overnight. When you wake up in the morning, peel and grind them. 7 Things That Can Change Your Eye Color

10:01
Can you change your eye color? No matter whether you have brown or blue eyes, you’ve probably been wondering how you’d look with green eyes, for example. You might assume that the color of your eyes is something you have no control over and that it’s all genetic. But have you ever wondered why your eyes look a bit lighter on a sunny day? Or why the eyes of people who are in a rage seem to go dark all of a sudden? But very few of us know that there are a number of factors including food and emotions that can change the color of our irises. Yep, your eye color can change depending not only on the lighting or your mood! We put together some interesting facts about how and why a person can change the color of their eyes. TIMESTAMPS: Melanin and aging 0:53 An injury 2:23 Your mood 3:22 Raw food diet and detoxing 4:25 Make-up and clothing 6:14 Laser lightening of the eye color 7:18 Colored contact lenses 8:09 #eyecolor #vision Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - The eye color of babies from 3 to 18 months old can become darker if the number of melanocytes in their irises increases. Depending on how much more melanin develops, a blue-eyed baby can end up with green, hazel, or brown eyes. - According to Dr. Ivan Schwab, a clinical spokesman for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, head or eye trauma can result in a condition called heterochromia, which is when a person’s eyes have two different colors. - The pigments in your iris compress or spread apart, making them darker or lighter, when the size of your pupil changes. Your pupils, in turn, can get bigger or smaller depending on your emotional state. - There’s a theory in alternative medicine that the color of the irises and the health of the internal organs are connected. It’s called iridology. However, there isn’t a lot of scientific proof backing it up, so it still needs further research. - When it comes to bringing out certain pigments in your eyes, makeup and clothing can truly work miracles. - Innovative eye color correcting laser surgery doesn’t come with so much risk. The procedure involves using a laser to destroy melanin cells in the irises, making them appear lighter. - Of course, the quickest way to change your eye color is to pop in some colored or decorative lenses! But which one is right for you? How People in Different Physical States See the World

07:46
Everybody sees the world differently. This statement applies not only to the fact that each person has a unique and individual view on things but also to the different physical conditions. Let's take this picture as an example - this is how a healthy and sober adult sees the world. The vision becomes more and more different depending on the physical state. Have you ever thought about how the people around you might see your common reality in a different way? Did you know that babies can't even see clearly until a certain age? We're about to show you how people in various states and different ages see the same picture. TIMESTAMPS Strabismus 0:47 Myopia 1:20 Hypermetropia 1:56 Practical blindness 2:21 Late loss of vision 2:47 Complete blindness 3:08 Color blindness 3:37 A newborn baby 4:04 A month after birth 4:28 Six months after birth 4:45 Drunk 5:15 After smoking cannabis 5:40 On LSD 5:59 On cocaine 6:28 On heroin 6:56 SUMMARY - It is commonly believed that a person with strabismus sees a double image or, as in some films, can look in different directions simultaneously. The truth is that this person’s brain ignores what one of their eyes sees, so the image is not doubled. - Myopia is when you can see objects that are close to you relatively well, whereas distant objects get blurry. It's happening because light focuses in front of the retina of your eye and not on it as it should be. So don't get offended when people with myopia don't say hi to you on the street – they probably didn't even see you! - Hypermetropia is the other way around - you can’t see what’s right next to you, while the background is quite clearly visible. In this case, light focuses behind the retina. Hypermetropia can progress to the condition, when objects of any distance may appear blurry. - People, who are practically blind can distinguish abstract shapes, colors, and light. However, they are considered blind as they can’t live the life of a sighted person. - Those of us who have lost their sight but still have partial light perception can only distinguish light and darkness. Usually, these are people that were born sighted and became blind later in their lives. - Total blindness looks like complete darkness. But a blind person wouldn’t define the world around him as black or dark as he simply doesn't know what the color black or darkness in general are. - There are several forms of color blindness. The most common one is called deuteranomaly. With this deviation, all colors (especially green and red) lose a bit of saturation. At the same time, the intensity of colors doesn't change. - At birth, sight is considered to be the least developed sense. A newborn baby sees everything around almost completely blurred. Basically, an infant can only see the presence or absence of light because his or her eyes can't focus on parents' faces yet. - After a month, a baby starts to pick out large objects and objects that are about 8 inches away. For example, their mother when breastfeeding. At this time infant's eyes begin to work together and focus, so they also start to track moving objects. - After three months, a child can discern their parents’ faces. After six months, they start to perceive colors, best of all — red and yellow. Then, after three more months infant's vision becomes quite clear so that they can recognize different objects around them. - Obviously, it takes more than a glass of wine to get this drunk. This image shows a strong alcoholic intoxication. When you heavily drunk you start to see a double and blurry image. - After smoking cannabis, your eyesight is similar to that of a slightly drunk person. Some researches state that regular cannabis smoking may result in the delay of vision to the retina. - LSD largely intensifies our view of colors and shades as well as our night vision. It also sharpens the sight. Above that LSD has multiple physical and psychological effects on your health, including nausea, closed-eye color patterns, elevated blood sugar, etc. - This drug exacerbates all feelings: images become "fuller," brighter, and a bit distorted. Cocaine may cause sensitivity to light. - The visual effects are not so important with heroin because when a person takes this drug, their life suddenly loses any sense and their body is overwhelmed with euphoria. Again, the influence of heroin on your system, including the sight, is catastrophic. 8 Things Your Eyes Say About Your Health

04:49
What your eyes are trying to tell you about your health problems. Any vision change is an alarm bell that requires an instant response. An old saying claims that your eyes are the windows to your soul. No one knows where this phrase came from, but nevertheless, we all know for sure that our eyes can say a lot about us and our health. Have your eyes suddenly become red? Have you ever had blind spots? In some cases, a cold compress and relaxation are all you need. Other times, you have to see a doctor immediately. TIMESTAMPS Permanent sty 0:31 Eyebrow loss 1:15 Burning eyes 1:54 Blind spots 2:32 Bulging eyes 2:54 Yellow whites 3:27 Cloudy vision for diabetics 3:46 Impaired vision, vision loss 4:14 SUMMARY - If you’ve ever had a sty, you know the pain and irritation it causes. It looks like a pimple formed on the eyelid. The eyelid usually swells up as the sty develops. A lump on the eyelid appears due to a blocked sebaceous gland and usually goes away within three-four days. - Eyebrow loss can affect one or both eyebrows with partial or complete hair loss. Spot baldness can be a reason, though it affects no more than 0.1% of the population. - Many of us spend hours at our computers at home and at work, which causes burning eyes or blurred vision. Nowadays this situation occurs so often that there’s a special medical term that describes vision problems connected with a prolonged computer, cell phone, or e-book use: ‘digital eye strain’ or ‘dry eye syndrome.’ - It's always frightening to notice a blind spot in your vision. This may pretty often point at a migraine with aura, especially if the picture you get in front of your eyes is accompanied by sparkling dots or wavy lines. Typically, blind spots go together with headaches. - Bulging eyes: we have all had times when our eyes seemed to betray us. We rub them or blink several times, and our vision seems to become clear again. But if you constantly feel some sort of expansion in your eyes, it can be a symptom of thyroid eye disease. - Every day we spend time looking in the mirror, so it’s unlikely we can miss this problem. Both adults and newborns with the undeveloped liver function may face jaundice. It may also be connected with the state of the gallbladder or bile ducts. - People with diabetes have to pay special attention to their health. And vision is one of the things they keep tabs on. One such problem is diabetic retinopathy — a state caused by damage to blood vessels in the photosensitive retina tissue. - If you notice your vision suddenly impaired, clouded, or even disappearing for a moment, seek medical help immediately. These symptoms are often the first signs of a stroke. Take care of your health, and we hope you find our video beneficial to you. HOW ANIMALS SEE THE WORLD

04:12
Did you know that pigeons have better vision than us? Have you ever wondered how animals and birds actually see the world? What do fish see when they look at us? This video will explain all these to the smallest details! TIMESTAMPS Snakes 0:20 Cows 0:35 Horses 0:53 Fish 1:12 Birds 1:32 Eagle 1:50 Pigeon 2:01 Sparrow 2:10 Insects 2:17 Bee 2:32 Rats 2:41 Cats 2:53 Dogs 3:13 Frogs 3:25 Chameleons 3:43 SUMMARY - Vision of snakes differs the most from ours – they sense thermal signatures. Due to the infrared-sensitive receptors on their snouts, some snakes can ‘see’ the radiated heat of warm-blooded mammals. - Cows don’t see colors as clearly as human. You’ve probably never heard about this: they see the world in a red-orange color scheme. - There is a blind spot where horses can’t see at all – directly in front of their faces. This is because of their eye location. Also, horses don't see as many colors as we do. - Fish eyes have ultraviolet receptors and a more spherical lens than we have. They see the world in green, red, and blue colors, but can’t see red and blue. Deep sea fish can easily see in the dark. - As for birds, they have something similar in their vision – unlike humans, birds can see ultraviolet light. Thanks to the structure of their eyes, they can focus on certain places. - Flies have thousands of individual visual receptors that collectively create a broad field of vision. Also, they see the world in slow-motion and can see ultraviolet light. Another insect, a bee, has an unusual vision as well. It's a surprising fact but bees can't distinguish red color at all! For them the color red appears to be dark blue. - Rat vision is quite blurry, and they can’t see red. They also see the world in slow-motion. Each eye moves independently so they can have two images of the world. - Cats don't distinguish red and green shades, and their world is made up of brown, yellow, and blue shades. The cat's field of view is broader than ours so they can see more on the sides. -Dogs can’t see red and orange colors, but they clearly see blue and violet, as well as ultraviolet light. Moreover, they are able to differentiate between 40 shades of gray! - Frogs can notice only moving objects. They can literally starve to death in the abundance of food if the food does not move! Frogs can also focus only on certain things, so they don’t concentrate on what they don’t need (for example, shadows). - The eyes of chameleons can rotate in different directions independently, so they have a 360-degree field of vision. They see two images at the same time: one in the front and the other one behind. How Blind People Actually See the World

07:39
How do blind people see the world? Do blind people see dreams? Most people imagine that what the blind see is complete blackness. But, it’s not that “black-and-white”, so to say. There are different degrees and causes of blindness that affect what blind people can see. What's functional blindness? When a lot of us think of blindness, we only imagine total blindness. But there is something called functional blindness as well. It means different things in different countries. In the US, normal vision is 20/20, and the higher the second number, the worse the vision. A person with 20/200 vision is considered to have functional blindness, which means they can see at 20 feet what a person with normal eyesight can see at 200 feet. It could also mean the person has a visual field of 20 degrees or less, whereas normal is between 60 and 100 degrees. There are different types of functional blindness with varying levels of severity. TIMESTAMPS Blind from birth 0:25 People who lost their eyesight 1:10 Legally blind 2:07 Able to perceive light 3:17 Tunnel vision 3:33 Do blind people see images in their dreams? 4:04 Using other senses 5:21 Perceiving light non-visually 6:14 SUMMARY - People who are blind from birth obviously have never had the ability to see. And it’s not really our eyes that actually see information but the brain that processes it. So if the brain receives no signals from the eyes to process, a person can see nothing. - Becoming totally blind, that is, losing light perception altogether, is extremely rare. It happens to those who have lost the connection between the eyes and the brain. This can happen when the brain or optic nerve is damaged or when the eyes are removed. - A legally blind person can see people and large objects but they’re out of focus. They can perceive colors or even see things in focus but only at a certain distance, perhaps only as far as right in front of their face. In some cases, everything they see is blurry and hazy. - Keeping light perception doesn’t help blind people see clearly, but it does help them distinguish between light and dark, day and night. Some of them can also tell where the light’s coming from. - People with tunnel vision look at the world kind of like through a narrow tube, hence the name. They might see things pretty clearly, but only within a field of vision less than 10 degrees. - A person who once could see and then lost their vision may see dreams like sighted people do, with bright vivid images. Legally blind people can also see images while they’re sleeping. - Another popular question concerning people with impairment or loss of vision is if their other senses get stronger. Researchers believe it’s true. Blind people remember how different objects smell and often use hearing and touch to find their way around. - And it’s possible that totally blind people have their own way of perceiving light. In 1923 Harvard graduate student Clyde Keeler conducted some research on blind mice. Although their eyes lacked certain parts necessary for vision, they still followed day-night cycles. 13 Ways to Improve Eyesight Without a Doctor

10:51
Here are some amazing exercises that will take you no more than 5 minutes to do. You can improve your eyesight right now while watching this video! Do you annoy your friends by asking them to read something you can’t see in the distance? Are you tired of wearing glasses and contact lenses? If your answer is «yes» in both cases, you definitely have to start doing something about your eyes. In what way should you change your lifestyle to make your eyes feel better? What exercises should you do? TIMESTAMPS Don’t smoke 1:05 Wear sunglasses 1:47 Don’t overstrain your eyes 2:15 Blink 3:01 Use high-resolution screens 3:30 Turn down the brightness 4:03 Change your eating habits 4:37 Have your eyes checked regularly 5:21 Focusing 5:50 Trataka 6:51 Massage 7:40 Tightly closing your eyes 8:05 Pencil 8:57 SUMMARY - Smoking is something that you can actually control and eventually give up. It’s not some genetic disease you can do nothing about. So, put out your cigarette and when the smoke clears, you’ll see the world way better. - Good sunglasses don’t just make you look cool, but also protect you from dangerous ultraviolet rays. By the way, the rays don’t really care what time of year you are having, so try to put on glasses every time you go outside in sunny weather. - Take five-minute breaks every hour. Set a timer if you need it. During rest stand up and walk around and massage your neck a little. If you wear glasses, take them off more often. - To avoid dry eye symptom that we talked about earlier, blink more often than you want when working on a computer. This way you won’t sense any irritation or burning by the end of the day. - The closer the screen image to the real life, the better. If the objects on the screen are sharp (especially text), your eyes will get tired less. - Set the brightness level to as low as possible. You should be able to see easily, but not feel like you’re staring at a flashlight. - The right diet will provide you with the elements your eyes need. Drink carrot juice as often as possible (preferably, every day). You can add two drops of olive oil to it. - Have a specialist check your eyes at least once a year. Don’t be cheap or lazy about it. Better late than never, right, but earlier is even better. It is much easier to prevent serious diseases conditions if they are properly diagnosed at the early stages. EXERCISES - Come to the window and place your finger on it. Choose the most distant object you can see through the window. First, focus on the finger, then on the object. Repeat this at least ten times to relax your eye muscles. - Sit facing a small stationary object in an open space (a candle, for example). Focus your eyes on it. Try not to blink. You should aim to have a firm, detailed image of the object in your mind and memory. - Massage your eyes with gentle circular movements for one minute. Let’s begin right now! Of course, while massaging you shouldn’t feel any pain, just slight pressure. Massage ensures better blood supply to your eyes. - Another thing you can do for the blood supply is close your eyes very tightly. When doing it your face should look like a grimace of pain (as shown on the screen), so make sure nobody else can see you. - Take a pencil (or a pen) and hold it in front of your face at arm’s length. Now start moving the pencil to your face very slowly maintaining the focus on it. Continue until you can keep the focus no longer. Do you know any other ways to maintain your eyesight? 11 Optical Illusions That Will Trick Your Eyes

13:14
Optical illusions have always been a favorite subject of the Bright Side team. Do you like optical illusions? 🤓 How are they created? Those who do that use combinations of colors, lights, or particular patterns that can really trick the brain. So get ready to check your visual perception with this fun challenge! Some of these illusions were interpreted a long time ago, while others will challenge your brain and still won’t give a logical explanation. These awesome pictures will mess with your eyes and mind, making you believe things aren’t what they seem! TIMESTAMPS: Creepy 0:40 Hidden faces 1:37 A fair lady 2:35 Café wall illusion 3:22 The impossible triangle 4:57 Bicycle 6:00 Rubic’s cube 7:04 Chessboard 8:28 Upside down Steve Buscemi 9:14 Hermann Grid Illusion and Scintillating Grid Illusion 9:58 Boxes 12:20 #opticalillusion #visualillusion #vision Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Soy cantante no reconocida: By Dyan´s - Own work, CC BY-SA 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=28201965 SUMMARY: - This is a famous drawing created in 1892 by Charles Allan Gilbert called "All Is Vanity." And depending on what you see first, it can come off as a little creepy. - If you found 10 faces hidden among the branches, then you're an extremely observant individual. Some say that these faces are actually those of famous public figures! - This gorgeous lady must be a ballerina. Otherwise, how does she keep rotating like that, with that much grace? But, we are here not to discuss her artistic skills. - The name of this illusion was inspired by a tiled wall of a café in Bristol. But I will tell you no more for now. Can you tell if the dark lines are parallel to each other or inclined? - The impossible triangle, also known as Penrose Triangle is called so because it could never exist in reality. If it did exist, it would be absolutely contrary to the rules of Euclidean geometry. - What makes the bicycle move? Obviously, the fact that the spokes in its wheels are rotating. Nah, it can’t be that easy when it comes to optical illusions. - It’s a Rubik’s cube! This optical illusion is based on anamorphosis. It is a form of perspective. - You can’t play any chess with this board because it’s moving all over the place. Or is it? You have 15 seconds to decide if the lines are rotating. - Can you tell what’s wrong with Steve Buscemi? I mean I hope Steve is perfectly fine, but can you tell what’s wrong with the second picture? - Look at this black square crisscrossed with perpendicular white lines. The white dots situated at the intersections of the grid shift their color from white to gray and back. - It takes one large box and one little box and some magic to make this illusion possible. How is it possible for the little box to be outside, inside and part of the large box at the same time? Successful Treatment of Post LASIK Dry Eye at Shady Grove Eye and Vision Care

01:17
http://youreyesite.com/Articles/lipiflow.html GG suffered for years from symptoms of dry eye after LASIK surgery. Doctor after doctor, optometrists and ophthalmologists gave her eye drops to ease her suffering. A doctor at Shady Grove Eye and Vision Care after an eye exam, realized her problem was not that she needed more tears; she was producing plenty on her own, but that her tears were evaporating as they were produced, leaving her eye feeling dry. They instituted therapy to treat Meibomian Gland Disease and within a few weeks she was off of all eyedrops, feeling like new. This is GG's story, just one of many success stories treating eye and vision problems by the Doctors at Shady Grove Eye Care. Serving the Rockville, Potomac and Gaithersburg Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC for over 40 years. Shady Grove was the first doctors office in the entire Washington, DC Metropolitan area to offer Lipiflow, a groundbreaking 12 minute painless FDA approved method for treating the major cause of dry eye syndrome. Macular Degeneration Treatment You've Probably Never Heard Of!

18:22
If you've been looking for more information about macular degeneration, you're in the right place. Dr. Lundgren developed the Santa Fe Eye Protocol to Reverse the Vision Loss of Macular Degeneration. The Santa Fe Eye Protocol is a three-part treatment that achieves measurable results through minimally invasive techniques. 1. Small steel studs are inserted in regions of the ear whose nerve endings have been shown to correspond with specific areas of the brain. By stimulating these nerves, cortisone and oxygen-rich blood are induced in the region of the retina. 2. Needle electrodes are inserted in the fat around the eyeball and are stimulated with a mild electrical current. These electrodes stimulate the retina and surrounding tissues and probably increase blood flow to the retina. 3. In Spring 2007, a 3rd component was added -- electrically stimulating the scalp over the visual cortex which occupies a considerable portion of the brain. In the course of over 10,000 individual eye treatments on more than 1,500 individual patients, and as reported in articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, this combination of physical and electric stimulation currently results in measurable improvements in the vision of approximately 85% of individual eyes and 93% of patients when both eyes are combined. The Santa Fe Eye Protocol has few risks, is minimally invasive and therefore is a welcome addition to traditional treatments such as vitamin therapy, thermal laser, Photodynamic Therapy, Macugen, Avastin and Lucentis. Dr. Lundgren is so confident in the results of this protocol that all charges will be refunded if after four treatments there is not objective improvement in visual acuity. As measured on National Eye Institute ETDRS charts, one eye must test at least one line better in either near or distant vision. Most patients show much greater improvement.

Eye Health: 9 Mistakes that Mess With Your Eyes

08:23
Eye Health: 9 Mistakes that Mess With Your Eyes Keep your vision healthy You rely on them from the moment you wake up to when you turn off the lights at night. But are you really giving your eyes the care they deserve? We talked to Deeba Chaudri, OD, a New York City-based optometrist with LensCrafters, about her patients’ biggest bloopers when it comes to taking care of their baby blues (or browns, greens, or hazels). Here’s what not to do to make sure your vision stays healthy well into your golden years. Sleeping in contact lenses There are two types of contacts that are FDA-approved for overnight wear, but Chaudri says even those can be risky. In fact, an American Academy of Ophthalmology study revealed that the risk of developing a corneal ulcer is 10 to 15 times greater in extended-wear contact lens users than those who only wear their contacts during the day. And don’t even think about sleeping in any other type of contact lens. “You’re depriving your corneas of oxygen, and that’s a great way to cause infection and encourage bacteria to grow,” Chaudri says. It’s fine to take a 20-minute nap in your contacts, she says, but it’s safer to take them out beforehand—just in case you oversleep! If you do wake up to realize you’re still sporting your lenses, don’t try to take them out right away; if your eyes are dried out, you could actually pull the top layer of your cornea away with them. Instead, wait 20 to 30 minutes and lubricate with artificial tears before you remove the contacts. Then stick to glasses for the rest of the day. Touching and rubbing your eyes Whether you wear contacts or not, you’re asking for trouble by unnecessary poking and rubbing your eyes. “Sometimes your eyes itch and you have to rub, but it’s best to keep the lid closed and only touch the outside of the eye,” Chaudri says. Rubbing too hard can also lead to broken blood vessels and inflammation. Another reason to keep your hands off? Your eyes are protected by mucous membranes—moist tissue that can easily collect dirt and germs—so they’re a great place for bacteria to grow. “If you shake someone’s hand and then you rub your eyes, you’re transmitting those germs and there’s a good chance you can catch whatever cold he’s got.” Not getting annual eye exams “A lot of first-time patients tell me ‘I haven’t had an eye exam in 12 years because my vision was 20/20 the last time I was checked,'” Chaudri says. Vision changes aren’t even the most important reason you should still see an eye doc every year, she says. “It’s about getting your overall eye health checked out: There are no pain receptors behind the eye, so if you have a broken blood vessel or a tumor back there, you would otherwise not know it until it starts to interfere with your vision, or worse.” Staring at devices all day (and night) Electronic screens, like those on our computers, tablets, and smartphones, emit blue light, which some eye doctors believe to be as harmful as the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Plus, focusing on anything for hours on end can cause eye strain and headaches, Chaudri says. “If I told you to run around Manhattan and not stop for hours, your calves would be pretty sore afterward, wouldn’t they? Think about what your eyes are going through when you don’t take a break from your computer all day,” she says. Instead, follow the 20-20 rule: For every 20 minutes you look at a screen, take a 20-second break to look into the distance, refocus your eyes on something else, and make a conscious effort to blink—you may not have been doing enough of it before! Applying eyeliner to your waterline Even though makeup artists often swear by putting liner on the inside of your lower lashes, Chaudri says it’s actually quite risky. “When you put liner inside your eye, you’re mixing it with your tears,” she explains. If you’re wearing contacts, your lenses then get coated in tiny makeup particles, which can deprive your eyes of oxygen. And even if you’re not wearing contacts, those makeup particles can also be carrying germs that can cause infection. Liquid liners are especially dangerous, she adds, since the applicator tip sits in a tube that can harbor bacteria.Soft pencils are safer since they are continuously being worn down and a new “tip” is exposed, but she still recommends applying them outside the eye only. Sleeping in your makeup Hitting the sack without washing your face can do more than leave mascara stains on your pillow; it can also clog the glands around your peepers and lead to irritated skin, pimples, and even styes—painful, raised bumps that can appear on or around the eyelids. False lashes are a no-no in Chaudri’s book, too. “If you’re sleeping in them and rubbing them, that glue can get into your cornea and lead to major inflammation.”

Try This Mask - It Works Wonders To Tired Eyes!

08:03
If you spend a lot of time in front of a computer of a phone screen, then you know this problem very well! Tired eyes: we, people living in the age of technologies, have this condition pretty often. You usually experience tired eyes after the muscles of your eyes have to work harder than normal. According to ophthalmologists, all tired eyes are actually caused by excessive dryness. You probably not have blinked enough. On average, we blink about 12 times per minute. However, when we get tired, this naturally slows to just four or five times per minute. Interestingly, when we stare at a computer screen, we also blink less. Although you can certainly be more productive by blinking less, your eyes won’t appreciate it. Heavy computer users often develop what is known as ‘Computer Vision Syndrome‘, which can be very uncomfortable. This is a well-documented ergonomic issue that is believed to affect 90% of computer users. In some instances, the eyes may look tired but you may not be tired. In people born with thicker eyelids, the eyes appear to droop. As people age, fat can accumulate around the eyes, and the extra tissue can make the eyes look tired. This is often described as bags under the eyes. For those with excess tissue around the eyes, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) can improve both cosmetic appearance and vision. Resting tired eyes is usually all that is needed to return them to normal, and not resting tired eyes can lead to eye strain. Although it is usually harmless, eye strain can lead to other problems, such as headache, dry eyes, irritability, and eye pain. Also it’s very effective to use natural methods. For example a carrot + coconut milk eye mask. Carrot juice contains vitamin A and vitamin C that helps fight sun damage, relieves puffy eyes, enhances skin elasticity and removes dark circles. Coconut milk moisturizes and tones eye contour area. This eye mask makes the skin around the eyes firm, lighter and brighter. Want to know about other effective remedies against tired eyes? Here's What Your Baby Will Look Like

04:15
What will my children look like? Who will they be similar to? For most people, this is an incredibly interesting question. Fortunately, we live in the age when scientists have done so much research into this subject that they can give us relatively convincing answers long before a new life appears. Here’s a rough guide which will help you find out whether your children are going to be blue-eyed, brown-haired, have a big nose or a small one, as well as plenty of other things. Literally, anyone can use this and make a good guess about the appearance of their future sons and daughters. Fascinating! TIMESTAMPS Strong and weak genes 0:30 What the color of your future child’s eyes will be 1:04 How strong genes dominate weak ones 2:13 Genes skip generations 2:52 SUMMARY - Modern science can predict what physical characteristics your child will inherit from you. This information is encoded into your genes that can either be dominant or recessive. - If you have dark skin, dark-colored eyes, curly and dark hair, a big nose, thick lips, and a wide chin, it means your genes are strong. Your genes can be considered weak if you have red or light-colored hair, straight hair, gray or blue eyes, fair skin, and left-handedness. - Also, keep in mind that a person’s physical characteristics are the result of the displacement of several genes of their parents. Therefore, what exactly they will look like cannot be predicted with certainty. Genes can skip several generations and reappear. It means a person can inherit certain genes from their grandparents or even great-grandparents. What about your family? Have you noticed how genes skip generations in your family?
